Anybody who WALKED OUT of a meeting that the "CEO" of their respective company was giving because they actually thought they didn't need to hear it wouldn't be given almost a yr to get transfered HE would have been sent packing within weeks.

yea playa that may hold true if you were a minimum wage mail room worker but if you were a extremely high paid exec. You would be given more leeway, look at spree as a high paid exec and an important part of the knicks organization, you don't just transfer guys like that..

Come on dukes!!!

As a HIGH PAID EXEC guy I don't think you walk out , that is why you are highly paid.

Do you work in a corporation? I do, and if you defy authority openly, you are lucky to make it back to your desk without being escorted by security, high paid or not. Maintenance people are usually union, and have more protection. Executives do not.

YOU PEOPLE WHO DWELL ON THE FACT OF SPREWELLS PR RELATIONS REALLY NEED TO GET A GRIP...IT IS CALLED THE GAME OF BASKETBALL ...NOT THE GAME OF PR RELATIONS...ASK AI WHO IS THE WORST PR MAN IN THE WORLD... BUT IT SURE DOESNT LOOK LIKE ITS HURTING HIM ANY...AND DO YOU KNOW WHY...BECAUSE THEIR OWNER REALIZES WINNING AND HAVING A POPULAR PLAYER ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN GOOD PR RELATIONS...SPREWELL GAVE A CASUAL FAN A REASON TO WATCH AND A TRUE FAN A REASON TO CHEER...KVH IS NEITHER OF THE TWO ...SPREE IS LUCKY THO...TO GET OUT OF A PATHETIC SITUATION LIKE NY AND GO TO A REAL TEAM WHO CARES ABOUT WINNING...

Wrong. I own my, own company and if ANYONE walked out of a meeting I was giving, it would be the last time they were allowed in the building.

Actally - referring to Iverson, I think it has hurt him to some degree...I'm not saying it's all about kissing babies, but being able to get along with your 'power personnel' is a character trait of successful people. Look at Jordan. The man was a pro. AND had skills. It's possible to do both, and keep your street cred.

Latrell Sprewell, finally made contact with the Minnesota Timberwolves yesterday. He is expected to arrive in Minneapolis later this week for his physical. The trade can be rescinded if Sprewell does not report by Thursday or pass his physical by Sunday. A Timberwolves official said the team and Sprewell were finalizing plans for his arrival. This guy really didn't want to leave NY, IF HE WAS SO CRAZY ABOUT MINN, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE ON MONDAY...VACATION OR NOT. Flip Saunders will see if spree comes to games and practices late just because he wants to. SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGES.

Spree walked outta that meeting because he was tired of hearing the bullshytt. Dolan wasn't saying a damn thing that's gonna help the team win games. Spree spoke out when things were done ass-backwards on this team. He more often than not said the things that the true Knicks Fan wanted management to hear. Now he's been replaced by another punked-out yes man with the NYK hype department having his back.

Hooray for corporate America. Yes, it sucks THAT bad.

Spree IS lucky. It's the Knicks and those few fans who clearly see the doom on the horizon who aren't lucky.

I didn't include those who believe the Keith Van Hype because when the shytt hits the fan, they'll all jump on (the back of) the "get them outta here" bandwagon, while hoping that no one digs up their threads that will expose just how fickle they truly are.

I am so glad that this site saves threads for a year. Now it'll be all too easy to Smash the faces of these simpletons in their own feces when the time comes (which I believe is sooner than we think).

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Thanks alot, nyvec...

I speak my mind with the same reality I see. True fans (Knicks or any sport) stand by what they say. Threads hold us accountable to consistency.

Don't quit now brotha... Your input helps balance out the forum.

I don't know you, obviously, but if you own your own company I'm assuming it's not exactly a Fortune 500 company (no disrespect meant, man. More power to ya!) which more often than not are publicly owned as opposed to having one owner. If that's the case I can see what you are saying if somebody walked out on a meeting you are giving. I support (tech) the chief officers of a company ranked #1 worldwide in it's field, and let me tell you, you don't just fire one of these guys, even if he got up in the middle of a CEO's meeting and left.

But you know what? It's apples and oranges anyway. In Cablevisions scheme of things, Spree is not an 'extremely high paid exec' (sorry tk), just an extremely high paid employee. This whole thread is just Playa talking **** cuz this wasn't the reason he was traded.

Nec, the truth is just that, "The Truth" and when it comes to Mewell you would sell ya soul before you believe anything negative about the guy.

August 1, 2003 -- With a chance to needle Knicks owner James Dolan, Latrell Sprewell was as soft as a *****cat yesterday in his introductory press conference at a Minneapolis community center. However, Sprewell mentioned everyone by name in Knick management - lauded them, in fact - but never referred to the Cablevision magnate.
Sprewell is "SOFT AS BLUE CHEESE" all his talk about bad management this bad management that and now he doesn't have anything negative to say about knicks brass.

"I kind of bumped my head and started thinking of who we have on the team, and I started smiling a little bit," Sprewell said. "This team is very close in talent to the team the Knicks had in '99 when we went to the Finals."
Ya see he had to hit his ownself upside the head because the guy is a rock head , he doesn't get it!

Chucky, you wouldn't recognize the truth even if it was broken down in little syllable for you!

On the other hand, Spree has obviously read a lot of your posts:

"The one thing that helped me stay sane in New York was staying away from all the things I heard," Sprewell said. "There were always so many stories. People were competing for stories, and sometimes things would get a little twisted.

The only thing i have to say about this is I hope spree wakes up and realized that this team has way more talent than the '99 Knicks.
