and you dont think Lee deserves 8 million a year. Boguts averages a block more a game and a couple of points in 5 more minutes. He played on a horrible team and cant shoot free throws. Lee will have better numbers this year with the NYK than Bogut will with the Bucks

i think D Lee at $8 mil per sounds about right.

JJ1 and JJ2 are getting 5 and 6 million a year. I really think that is a fair price for Lee.

don't use the 2 JJ's to compare salaries to anyone, they're both severely overpaid for their talents... but D Lee is actually a productive player & is a player that has trade value, so at $8 mil per it sounds reasonable to me... wouldn't go too far over that tho.

Lee may deserve 8 but to compare the 2 guys on stats alone is pretty thin.

What else do you compare them on Bogut team is horrible also and he blocks a shot once in a while and cant hit free throws. Bogut is a better player but not 30 million better

just because the bucks overpaid doesn't mean we should..the bucks are notorious for overpaying.

the problem with NBA contracts is the market is set by the stupidest team. a few scrubs get big contracts, and decent players (& their agents) demand more money. lee doesn't have as much bargaining power as bogut, but he also plays for a team known for overpaying and with a few mistakes chilling on the roster. i just want to see this team play a respectable season before considering giving significant contracts out.

Oh my god!... Lets give Lee 100 million dollars in 5 years. We cant let the Bucks overpay more than us!

Bogut is a defensive player first and foremost. He D-ed up Duncan in his rookie season. He's a center. Lee hasn't found a position on the floor yet. If he's a power forward, he has a hard time guarding 75% of the PFs in this league.

Knicks should seriously let the market come to them on Lee. people aren't going to be throwing around money willy nilly with the big name free agents coming on the market. i like Lee, but he's not a guy you compromise your cap space for. and i think other teams will feel the same.

knicks need to wait out the market on lee.

Bogut was also a #1 pick, and I am sure that is still at play in terms of negations.

Whether he has lived up to it or not, that is a different story.

I don't think I would give him this kind of money, that is for sure.

nba gm's are stupid for giving out this type of money.
players are smart to be asking for this type of money.

morale of the story? alot of people involved in the nba have alot of money.

knicks need to wait out the market on lee.

if lee is playing for this team next season w/o an extension, he will be an unrestricted free agent next summer. so there is a chance he could be lost for nothing. knicks won't get a chance to wait out a market value for him. he'll get a full MLE offer at the minimum so he can go to basically any team he wants at that point.

prediction: lee will not be traded and will become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
