I can see him having a Shawn Marion-like effect under D'Antoni.

He's 6'7, 225 (just like Marion) he can score, he can rebound, he can play some defense. He's also shooting the same % that Marion shot before D'Antoni got the Phoenix (46%) and then when MikeD showed up, he started posting those 48%+ years. I honestly can see him playing the Marion role for this team. The only problem is.. how do we get him?

Trying to work the trade scenarios right now and theres not a whole lot that matches up, but as we've seen before if a team really wants a player, they'll get him. Both Jordan and Larry have been Jamal Crawford supporters in the past, that could be an avenue, or we could try and send them Maliks expiring. Or maybe a 3rd team involved. I just think this is a player we should go after.

Either way, this is my proposition. Yay or nay?

where does he see minutes on a team w/so many SF's & swingmen as it is? is he that much better than Balk or Chandler, & if so 1 of those guys would have to be moved in a trade to make room for this guy... i got no problems going after Dudley if we got a move involving Balk or Chandler, but i really wanna go after a shotblocker first.

Personally, I think Balkman sucks and I don't think he's going to play that well in D'Antoni's system. This system is all about having guys who can shoot and put the ball in the hole, neither are things that that he can do and he really doesn't do anything else all that well. I do love his effort and hustle though, no doubt.

I agree that we have alot of F's but I just can't let that stop us from getting players we actually like. I still think we should trade Lee for a PG or SG and Zach and Curry have no future with this team. It also remains to be seen what Chandler can do with this team, but he looks like he might be decent, again though, can he shoot?

We need guys who can put the ball in the hole for this system to be effective and thats why I think we should go after Dudley, he knows how to do that and I really see him having a Shawn Marion effect.

I just don't think that we should stop ourselves from getting players we actually like because we already have guys on our roster that most likely have no future with this franchise.

Its zero sum though...we don't have a lot of guys that we can trade because of salary, and adding a guy like DUdley where we have prospects like Chandler and Gallo while taking away something we need makes things tough for us.

I'm all about bringing in as many free talent guys as we can.

I still think Balk has a lot of value for an NBA team. We need to figure out a consistent rotation and give guys roles.

me too, i think Balk can prove to be a valuable role player to have... if we could trade him for a good young shotblocker i'd do it tho... personally i like Balk... he's 1 of the few guys that get me pumped up while watching a Knicks game.

Balk is the best shotblocker we have, which is said. But that being said there's not anyone on this team that isn't untouchable for the right move that would help us out in the long run.

I believe Marion was the fifth pick in the draft because he was so talented. I am not sure but I know he was a lottery pick. He was recognized and rewarded for his talent at the draft. He has been a fantastic nba player. Nash and D'Antoni instituted a style of play that would let him excell/put up big numbers. The matrix averaged around 19 and 8 in 06-07. If Dudley averages '8' for anything I will be surprised.

Any relation to Chris Dudley?
