Despite reports of his impending doom, an unfazed Stephon Marbury said he will not change plans and is heading to Las Vegas Friday to work out with Knicks veterans at a voluntary minicamp coinciding with summer league.

New hire Chris Duhon and Marbury's potential point-guard successor is also expected to work out with Marbury in Vegas, where the Knicks summer-league team will hold its first practice Friday night. Can you say awkward?

Also speculates that Marbury will look to go to Boston, but we'll see about that.

If Marbs gets waived and Boston signs him he will forever be bitch. I can see him with a RedSox hat on too. Nobody from NY should be wearing a hat with a "B" on it unless its a Brooklyn Dodgers hat holla if ya hear me!

I dont understand how the Boston/New York rivalry from baseball translates over to Basketball.. Who cares

I don't get it either. We don't really have any history with the C's. This isn't like the wars with Miami, Indy and Chicago we had back in the day.

Getting back to topic: Marc Berman may have to ride someone else's coattails if Steph doesn't return.

Knicks Celtics rivarly hasn't been very significant in the last 20 years or so, but it dates way back.

Marbury leaving the team to go anywhere will be a big mistake on the Knicks part.

Berman is a mess. KG wouldn't welcome Marbury because "he respects his game more than anyone". He'd welcome him because 1) he feels sorry for him and is more of a friend to Marbury than Marbury ever was to him and 2) he fills a void if House/Cassell leave and they can't sign Corey.

Well, the C's pressed their foot on the Knicks throat and kept it their back when they had Bird... The year the Knicks finally knocked the C's out of the playoffs when Bird's back was shot was a friggin party at the Garden. Not a tremendous amount basketball history, but it doesn't change the fack I ****ing hate Boston sports fans. Not to mention the people of Boston have that little-brother complex with New York City--SO FUCK BOSTON!!!

i really hope they don't let marbury come to vegas. he should be banned from the team until he is traded or bought out.

also, can we buy out berman? he's flailing pathetically these days, trying to cover his sloppy reporting. so, when marbury said "he'd definitely be in camp" a week ago, he was refering to an optional vegas mini-camp and not training camp? come on, berman, hang up the keyboard, buddy.

It's like the Giants - Cowboys rivalry. Until last season, when they were good, we were bad and vice versa. But more Giants fans dislike the Cowboys than any other team in the league. Many Knicks fans feel the same way about the Celtics.

How long have you been a Knicks fan? Players from both teams, past and present openly talk about the rivalry. The two Reds hated each other. Both teams take pleasure when the other isn't doing well. Paul Pierce said he gets more pump up playing against the Knicks than any other team because of the rivalry (said this even last season). Welcome to the NY sports scene.
