Blount and Daqueen cook for Curry is Niiice.

What ya think?

Kinda rebuilds Miami into another super power with them having Marion, Beasley, Wade, whoever and Curry.

Knicks get Blount who for some reason makes just as much as Curry for a shorter contract and an up and comer in Cook.

Trade Zach first. Then go back to making Eddy look good to make him more attractive again. I think this would maximize what we get in return overall for both combined.

Zach put up 23/10, teams know this, teams know he and eddy dont fit, so they might say "well, if we get Zach here he will give us 23/10 again because he just didnt fit in NY but he will fit here."

Eddy put up 18/7 and then what 12/5? Teams will say "yeah, hes fat and lazy, he only got the one good year cause Isiah force fed him, we really dont want him"

It really depends on who's willing to give us what. If some team gives us a useful player that fits our cap plans or a good draft pick, then we have to consider that.

Yeah so we trade both.

I think this is an eventual reality if the goal is not just a competitive team but a dangerous team.

Zach has to go that's just a no brainer he is terrible.
Curry is still more just frustrating than anything but I think we've seen enough to know what he is and what his limitations do to a team. You can't build around him, I don't even think you can use him as a role player because of his terrible conditioning and lack of desire. Can't win when he's got both problems going on.

So...yeah, both have to go, as does Marbury, as does Crawford. Just can't win with such players.

we lost any chance to trade Zach this year after we kept that draft pick... it's too late to trade him for any expirings right now... the best we can hope for IMO is to make a lateral move w/equally bad contract that might address the team balance issue a little better... there's not much upside left for us in trading Zach now, but if Walsh can get it done he deserves all the credit in the world for undoing 1 of Isiah's hugest knuckleheaded blunders.

Curry did not do quite well with the addition of RAndolph on the team.

We need to get rid of Randolph first then have Curry build up his trade value.

At age 26 with a 9mm contract, he will be appealing to some teams out there looking to acquire a bonifide big man with an offensive game inside.

Let's say he doesn't get traded and had a great yr offensively, he can opt out like arenas or brand did, go elsewhere thus leaving us with 9mm less on the books.

Yeah but are we showcasing him or is he showcasing himself to get paid somewhere else?

Zach is already a proven player. The guy can score and rebound. That's a given. Why not keep him and get some other shmo to play center....like Dampier or something?

We are in a funny place cuz we're not trying to do anything really except get right as a franchise. I'd like to see both players traded btw. Knicks need to hit the reset button.

You need to get rid of Zach now cause he has the killer contract that passes beyond 2010 which is the yr we're trying to get cap relief in order to obtain an elite free-agent.

If Randolph remains with the knicks beyond 2010 then we're screwed if we're trying to get one of the top notch free-agent.

You can always work yourself into trading Curry within the next 2 yrs. HE does not have a killer contract.

Zach has the killer contract but he also can be moved later on the same way Curry could.

Showcasing Curry when he has an out in the contract is no good. If he does well and bolts for nothing? Its a waste of time. He shoulda been traded while you have the upper hand.

Its all about where they wanna go. They already said they were planing for 2010......to me both these bastards need to go. Joec has a thread where he trades both curry and zach and it makes tons of sense both ways.

What I do like about what's going on so far is that they are setting a plan and going through with it. I believe Zach is already gone. Its only a matter of time.

Zach won't be gone til 2011 if no one is willing to give up an asset to get him off our books... i don't see why a team would wanna take on that contract & all his baggage in the process unless there's a sweetener in the deal... i have a feeling next offseason it will be the same deal & the same people will still not wanna give up draft positioning to unload his deal... i don't see many other ways to realistically attain cap flexibility in 2010 w/o going that route... of course if Walsh can somehow trade off Jamal & Curry for expirings next offseason, it's a possibility.
