As a New Yorker and a role model to many kids in the hood of Brooklyn it must be destroying Marbury that his name is being mentioned in trade and waive talks from his all time favorite team, the Knicks. Too bad. No honestly I feel sorry for him. I got all his jerseys, he WAS my favorite player. Things have definately changed. But this leaves me with an interesting question, what does Marbury do after the Knicks? Many sources believe he will retire because the game of basketball is no longer a passion to him (Isiah was the last friend he had in the NBA). Others believe he will pull a Robert Horry and play as a role player on a Championship caliber squad. Stephon Marbury reminds me of Whitney Houston. When they first came out (I dont think I was born when Whitney first came out) there was talk that they had legendary potential. Now your just like WTF happened?!? Anywho I believe Marbury will retire for a year then try to comeback with a good team. When that is unsuccessful, he will fall into oblivion like Keon Clarke.

Maybe he'll go to Italy, as he said he would like to.

Hopefully a mental institution.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't feel sorry for Marbury, who the hell would feel sorry for him, he has enough cash to make him happy for his entire life. People from his hood respect him and thats all that matters.

I am trying to think what team would actually take a chance on him?

The one thing that made him great was his ability to get into the lane and finish- but he can't do that any more, so what is left? He isn't a particularly strong outside shooter, he doesn't run an offense.

What can he do? Even on play off ready team???

Agreed. His game has really deteriorated. He's nothing more than a stopgap with a bad ego now. Not many teams are going to be looking for that.

If people will take a chance on players like Stoudemire and Francis thinking that they can help contending teams, then they'll take a chance on Marbury.

I'd actually get a kick out of it if he went to Europe and became the best player over there.

At least he could have a chance to be the best PG on that continent.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

If Marbury is healthy--he's still a really good player.

I think Cleveland would be great for him--he would easily start and with all of the attention Lebron receives--he could be very good for that team --he can just play without the hype and he sMUCH MUCH better than what they have at the PG spot---Im sure he would ahve some revenge on his mind and be rekindled a bit if he got that chance

As far as everyone hating Marbury--thats kind of a child-like remark. Im sure people like Marbury and even if they dont I remember a guy named Reggie Jackson who wasnt excatly loved by his teammates--but who cares? not reggie

Lebron would be VERY happy to get Marbury imho and Marbury would be very smart to go to cleveland
RIP Crushalot😞

please, don't ever use Reggie Jackson & Stephon Marbury's names in the same breathe... they don't even begin to compare... Reggie had a huge ego but the difference was he delivered when the team needed him to in big games... when the hell has Marbury ever stepped up to deliver for this team? he's a classic example of a guy who's mouth wrote checks that his body couldn't cash... Reggie was the complete opposite.

Imagine what an egotistical phuch this guy is that your hometown team is willing to pay 21mil for you to go away. And your teammates dislike you so much your team is willing to pay 21 mil for you to go away. And isiah still gets paid 4mil a year!

Now now, TMS, let's be fair. I totally remember that one game that they needed him to hit a big shot and he botched the play. But, he offered the team a pair of Starbury's for only $14.98. That is clutch!

We took a chance and it was a miserable failure. I'm still suffering from his idiocy. I forgot what talent was under this guys antics.

You must be talking about that missed free throw, that lost the game. To me, that was the turning point, no going back play of his career. That just said it all.
