Everyone was talking about how he said dont draft Lee or Rondo and they trade the pick away. The only other player he drafted was rudy Fernandez when he was the coach at Phoenix. So in the last 5 years MDA first round picks are Fernandez and Gallinari. Two europeans in 5 drafts I can safely say the draft may not be his specialty. In the last 8 years Walsh hasnt been very good either.

Great point. I have alot of questions about D'Antoni and I hadn't thought about that at all. I know that he has been quoted as saying that his job is not to develop young players. I also wish Isiah was gone. I can't help but think that he has a role in every decision that the Knicks make.

I get the feeling that the Knicks are making it up as they go along. SOS going on here. Make a plan for cap room in two years? win now lose now duhons great duhon scks trade lee keep lee everyone wants to play for dantoni---yeah we can see that effect already people banging down the doors fire marbury keep marbury crawford scks crawford is great gallinari is Bird 2 Gallinari has stiff legs and might take to NY a little too much :)

this team is making it up under the BS management that has been responsible for an average of 26 wins over the last 7 season with the highest payroll.
We had LA by the cahones in the draft--we should ve madea d eal with them for pick 34 and taken Gordon and made them take Gallinari--they tried to trade up for Gordon or Mayo and Mike D said those were their only two objects of desire after 3--where is Knicks management---Deandre Jordan should ve been our pick at 34

since when did Colangelo let his coach dictate who was being drafted?

The Suns sold picks because of ownership and their tight wad.

I think a lot of it is speculation and justification after the fact.

The Suns can't come out and say 'We're cheap, that's why we gave up our picks'.

And for the knicks trying to trade lee, they have to justify better than 'he is our only asset'

What scares me is this draft and next year draft will determine the future of the Knicks. IT left the franchise a mess and we cant go get a Ellis or anyone else if they want to be responsible fiscally for 2010. I just think next year I hope we get BJ Mullins and not another european since the only two drafts MDA has been a part of euro were taken.

what the team does with Zbo, Malik's contract, Steph's contract, Lee's extention, Nate's extention, Q's contract, Big Games contracts will determine more than next year's draft.

The fear in understandable, but IMO it's being overstated. SOme of us have lost the objectivity and appreciation we used to have. We just added a coach who totally turned the PHX Suns around and with a totally different approach to the game. He won games and came within inches of the FInals. Walsh is as solid a BB Man as we could hope to get with out zoo like org. We're fortunate to have two guys of this caliber and I believe they know exactly what they're doing. Let's give it a chance. We all know how stuck we are with these contracts. Fixing this won't be easy.

No need for personal attack--if you don't like what soemone says--just skip it. I don't have good vibes about this team--the ONLY thing I do see [potentially] is somewhat of a validation that they are attempting to get to FA in 2010[if this actaully does become true I will change my mind] but I have to wonder if the contracts we have the players we have to sign[were not letting david Lee just walk away?] this battle to FA has to start taking shape soon. If we fail to execute that FA I honestly see 6-7 more years of hard times.

I agree he turned Phoenix around. They had a young stud named amare, and then they signed diaw barbosa and traded for nash. We have no flexibility or pieces to trade. We dont have a joe Johnson or Isiah thomas to dump quentin richardson to. Comparing the situation he had inb Phoenix vs the one now is comparing my wife's body to jessica alba's.

I don't know what to believe about D'Antoni's drafting. It was said he didn't like Gallinari's game either.

Sorry for the remark, but be a little bit impartial I mean you aren't geting good vibes from the team you said it yourself that it takes time to make changes. There is two years for changes to get completed. Its much to early in the Walsh era to have a complete overhaul. You want him coming in here and do what Isiah did make ridiculous trades on the fly and not give a crap about length of contracts. Thats what Isiah did to Layden players. You can not do that you know it. Trades done without thinking only lead to disaster for the long haul. You want Walsh to start chopping contracts how do you do something like that at this point when the players value is so down? You won't get back enough in return. The recent move even tough I don't agree with it (Duhon) was a deal made with 2010 in mind. So far Walsh is sticking to his plan and thats a positive sign that management is using some fiscal responsibility.

Doesnt matter, lee will be worth his contract and he will get better so he's packagable for the next 5 years as long as we dont give him the house, land and stocks
