Revealing remarks from Duhon's agent to Orlando Sentinel
From the Orlando Sentinel, regarding Chris Duhon (I see david also posted this link in the comments area of the previous blog...good looking out, david).

Last night word got out that Duhon could be ready to make a decision as early as today and was deciding between the Knicks and Magic.

There was some thought that he was interested in the Knicks because of the opportunity to win a starting role. But after reading these quotes from Duhon's agent, Kevin Bradbury, it sounds like Duhon walked away from his meeting with the Knicks unimpressed with what they had to offer and not just because the Knicks put up just a two-year deal compared to three from the Magic.

"Chris wants to help a team win a championship, that's what Orlando is trying to do," Bradbury told the Sentinel. "That's different than a team looking to rebuild."

Another line from Bradbury that could be viewed as another vieled shot at the Knicks situation regarded the role Duhon would play as backup to Jameer Nelson. "Chris just wants a well-defined role," said Bradbury, who was nowhere near as talkative when members of the New York media contacted him over the past few days.

Perhaps an indication of Duhon's lack of interest in the Knicks and that the Knicks offered no clues to him about Stephon Marbury's future with the team.

So figuring Duhon is gone to Orlando, next up among guards of interest are Jannero Pargo, Roger Mason and Chris Quinn.

And before some of you in Fixer Nation start to boil about the self-imposed two-year restriction on offers, remind yourself that we're talking about Chris Duhon, Jannero Pargo, Roger Mason and Chris Quinn. These are nice players that could help, but no one that will make or break a franchise.

Stay tuned . . .

Bad move by Duhon
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Pargo is no PG Quinn is way to speculative to consider for 20 minutes every game by a long shot. Mason would be the best choice out of the three--although he is no pure PG by any stretch of the imagination--he is a 40% 3 point shooter/good defender scored 30 or more 3 times last year and is 6-5. He's a better stop gap than the other guys. Pargo is a chucker

Jason "White Chocolate" Williams !!!! I can see him on the break with chandler on one side and Balkman on the other, he then does his famous behind the back elbow pass to Chandler as he goes in for the gorilla dunk !!!!!

My guess is that Duhon is open to either situation and his agent is trying to get the Knicks to up their offer or make assurances about a starting job. However, I don't think Florida has income tax but I am not sure of this.

Jason Williams days of being a good PG are long behind him.

I don't care if they got an Oompa Loompa to play point. It doesn't matter what happens in the next 2 years other than Gallinar's development.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

all this is coming from his agent- first, we offered him $11m- then its only $6m and now Orlando has offer him $10m.

I'm glad Walsh is going to budge- I'd rather take my chances with Collins & some NBDL/undrafted kid from college. Why spend big money to win 32 games next year instead of 27? Waste all around.

Oh well. Not a major loss, since the next two years are irrelevant, if Walsh keeps his word.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

he's a better PG than Nate i'll tell u that much... Nate's a scorer plain & simple... Arroyo's not anything to write home about but what are u expecting to get on a 2 year MLE type deal?

I'm glad Duhon doesn't want to be a Knick, his agent is doing all the talking for him and he is basically saying there is no way Duhon can start. He is just a backup.

Good. Duhon isn't playmaker in any sense. I just got back from vacation hoping to hear we made a move on Felton. I deflated in my seat when i saw the Knicks had offered Duhon a contract.

I know its only two years, but it would be a waste. Signing Duhon is making a move for the sake of making a move. Seriously, Marbury and Nate are better than him. I dont see the point. Duhon doesn't make any body better, he doesn't break down the defense or get into the lane, he just walks it over half court and moves the ball. He's a second string at best, but should be a third string on this team.

Oh well, if he goes elsewhere, it's not like we are missing out on a great player. It was just nice to think that our GM was handing out a modest deal to a modest player for once. Oh well.
