If anyone heard the Mike Franchesca interview with Scott LayDown, it would be OBVIOUS that this CHUMP has NO IDEA what the hell is going on with his own team.

Mike picked LayDown apart. LayDown was rendered a stuttering mess when asked the questions:

• How has Van Horn improved? (after LayDown said that Van Horn has greatly improved)


• (after LayDown said that the doctors said McDyess can come back)
  Are you saying that McDyess will play this season?


• Who do you think Van Horn can defend- when everyone knows that he can't guard anybody?


• You say that Van Horn is that much of a better rebounder that Sprewell, when he averaged 1 defensive rebound more than Spree. How is that a significant improvement?


• You mentioned that Keith Van Horn will get more offensive rebounds, but he's nowhere near a physical player inside. How is he going to get more physical or get inside for rebounds when he's mainly an outside shhoter type-player? Even Majerus tried to get him to be more physical in college and couldn't.


• Did you get Van Horn because you couldn't get anyone else for Sprewell?


• We all know Van Horn is soft, and Allan Houston can still produce while playing soft. From the moves we see here, are you trying to move the team in a soft-type direction?

Do you see the Knicks going anywhere if McDyess doesn't come back this year?[/*]

All LayDown could say as an answer to these questions was "umm... uhh.. well uhh... okay... um..."

Francessa doesn't know anything about basketball that the casual fan isn't aware of. Unfortunately that sometimes appears to be more than Scott Layden knows. Francessa really pissed me off today when a later caller spoke about how well the Knicks had done in the draft. He kept asking the caller how he knew that Lampe was a good player, talking about Collison etc. The reality is that there are lots of media sources out there espn, nbadraftnet etc. that can provide a true fan with a wealth of information. Francessa just doesn't care. If it is not common casual fan basketball knowledge Francessa doesn't have it. The only person who I have heard concur with his opinion on Collison is Dick Vitale. Vitale has an agenda and basis his opinions on it. Francessa should stick to reviewing movies like, 'Seabisquit' and 'Titanic.' He also is good for the occasional 'insider' information on Bill Parcells.

Actually, Mike just makes me angry. I only listen to the show because it is ny sports. I think I like every other host on the fan more than Mike. It doesn't take alot of knowledge to make Layden look foolish.
