1. James Jones
Jones decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Blazers, seeking a higher salary than the $3.1-million he was scheduled to make next season. His numbers don't jump off the page by any means (8.0 point per game), but Jones finished third in the NBA in three-point percentage, knocking down 44.4% from behind the arc. He wasn't just a shooter, though, as he did a lot of the intangibles that could change the outcome of a ball game, evidenced by some of Portland's struggles when Jones was out with a knee injury.

2. Emeka Okafor
Okafor passed on a reported $12-million per year extension last summer and is a restricted free agent this year. After staying healthy for the entire year for the first time in his career, Okafor completed a productive campaign with 13.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. He isn't going to get the mega-bucks he may want, but is a foundational defensive piece that is a guaranteed double-double every night.

3. Monta Ellis
Ellis enters his restricted free agency with the opportunity to finally cash in on two years of stellar productivity for the Warriors. Chris Mullin has vowed to keep Ellis in the Bay Area, hoping to keep his efficient scoring on a squad that depends on outscoring their opponents to win games. His quick first step in combination with his finishing ability make him a lethal weapon when penetrating the lane and he now has a top-level mid-range jumper to keep defenses on their toes. With such a bright future (Ellis is only 22), the Warriors are probably going to have to match a hefty offer from someone else.

When opportunity knocks, make sure you open the door !!!
