It is as simply as this: Walsh did not draft Gallinari to sit on the bench. He cannot get rid of Randolph, Lee does not shoot well enough to be a SF, and Lee is not big enough to be a center. Thus, the only way Gallinari gets significant minutes is if he takes minutes from Lee. Since Lee has solid trade value, he is the odd man out.
This is also consistent with our strategy of having caproom in 2010. We would have to extend Lee if we keep him. If we trade him, that is one less high salary on the roster because Chandler and Gallinari will both still be in their rookie deals. Trust the Process
