That's because the Nets have a real GM.

Rod Thorn would have creamed himself if Gallinari was on the board at 10.

Brook Lopez would take his half retarded voice to some other city

As down as I am about this abortion of a draft from a Knicks perspective, make no mistake about it --- The Nets F'd up in the RJ/Yi deal.

Thorn tried to trade up, ahead of us, to get Gallinari.

As down as I am about this abortion of a draft from a Knicks perspective, make no mistake about it --- The Nets F'd up in the RJ/Yi deal.

They got a 20 year old player with potential and an almost expiring contract just in time for you know who for someone who was a cancer on that team, feuded with the coaches about defense and turned into a me first selfish primadonna. I follow the Nets because of Marcus and Josh and Jefferson was atrocious last year. He did nothing other than score point and he is getting paid like a superstar. The Nets couldn't find any takers for him. None. This deal for RJ was a steal.

No doubt about it- talent wise, the nets got a big Question Mark in Yi.

But they are now stocked with a lot of youth and if LeBron is going anywhere, its to the nets as we are going to have squat cap room and squat in terms of supporting cast.

Dolan has been digging this Knick Hole basically since he's been in control.

Layden, Isiah - all bad moves, no assets and picks traded away.

Thorn isn't that dumb. He knew that for better players to drop to him, the Knicks had to take Gallinari since nobody else in the top 10 would have touched him. He basically dared the Knicks to take him and they fell for it.

I dont know about all this, sounds like you have a bias against RJ, or maybe you're just a Nets front office stan. It boils down to this, RJ can play and he's in his prime; Yi, is a questionable talent. If you replace Vince with RJ, then one could justify the rationale.

How do you know this was the best the Nets could do?

How do you know this was the best the Nets could do?

From Dave D'Alessandro -
But his game suffered as Kidd became disinterested in the team's future, and Jefferson had been at odds with the coaching staff over his defensive commitment all season. That convinced management to shop him aggressively when the season concluded, as Jefferson's name had been connected with trade rumors involving Phoenix, Denver, and Toronto.

From Al Iannazzone -
The situation was different from Jason Kidd’s in that Jefferson wanted to be here. But it wasn’t working. He went from being an above-average defender to someone who cared about scoring and making All-Star teams and paying less attention to defense. The coaching staff wasn't happy. There was some definite jealousy on Jefferson’s part for Vince Carter and to an extent Kidd.

Going back to last season, there were people in the locker room that thought Jefferson didn't need to have ankle surgery, that he abandoned them. Though, that's ancient history now.

But Jefferson always wanted to be the No. 1 guy. He was for stretches this year and look what happened – the Nets went 34-48. He needs to be your third-best player to be successful.

It is my site and forums and I don't care that you consistently and constantly don't add anything to it. If you care to add anything insightful or interesting, please do. Posting that Walsh fell asleep at 10pm was mildly whatever for the first 10 times, but after the 5th thread you added it to, blah.

I'll try to come up with better metaphors for Walsh failing to do anything on draft night. Please forgive me.

Isles - I'm pretty miffed that it seems we did squat when a lot of teams did plenty.

But c'mon. Get over it.

Its still early in the new leadership, and you have to wait until the season gets here.

I am definitely worried about a 32-37 win season, because then that puts us out 2-3 more years before we can get better.

And I don't like how they are trying to throw Lee under the bus- crap he doesn't fit D'Antoni's style - he is probably the only one who does!
