everyone knows the knicks plans which is a good plan. however, will it be a successful one? first problem are all the contracts we received that are bad for players with major flaws. isaih is the reason this happened and we inherited it. walsh is very good at what he does and only jerry west is better imo so i have faith he will find a way. however, he realized big time that trading any of the players not named lee will be a chore. can he make a deal to get rid of the right players ( curry, randolph, jeffries or crawford)? maybe it is a blessing in disguise that the lee trade didn't go through since he is our only trading chip along with rose so we package them with those players, maybe a deal may be had. but it will be tough. also, are other teams enamored with helping the knicks get better byt giving them cap room? maybe they will make it difficult for them because they don't want the knicsk to succeed. lastly, othe teams are vying for cap room but the real competition will be nj and chicago who have better pieces than we have now, vie trade or players. we have problems thanks to isaih and i hopw walsh can clean it up but it will be a journey.

Scot Layden is the reason this happened, and Isiah compounded the situation

No but I think it is a good plan to be fiscally responsible.

If in 3 years we have an up and coming team, cap space and no Lebron, we still made the right moves

would u rather make moves to at least take a shot at Lebron, Wade, etc. in 2 years or just stay the course & hope 1 of these guys grows into a franchise stud we can build around?

You got to put yourself in the game. By trying to put yourself in position for a Lebron or a Wade you are still making moves in the right direction.

In 3 years Wade will be totally broken down. Let's think about Chris Paul...

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

We need to make these moves kind of like how the Space program was used. Going to the moon in of it's self doesn't really improve anything, but the advances in other feilds to make it possible is what made it worth it. Getting LBJ or not, the players we lose, rooikes we bring in and Vets we can pick up along the way will improve the franchise.

And if the heat get LBJ, we just have to build a better cast and add Wade to it.

I'm with you Anji and TMS. We can't lose by making the attempt. We need to do it anyway, even if those guys aren't available. In the process, who knows, by clearing space and obtaining high picks, maybe things fall into place and you find a way to get your own franchise guy. You can't get those guys if you aren't in the game. Something Isiah never understood

i can't wait for the same ones who said cap space was meaningless to note our franchise's inability to target any of the top FA's in 2 years time, as if that was an inevitable outcome that could not have been addressed 2 years earlier... i say we need to make preemptive strikes now to plan for the future... you don't reap benefits from a retirement account unless you start contributing to your 401k now... small incremental steps are important if you wanna achieve the big end results... we can't expect to unload all the salary we'll need to get under the cap in 2 years when just about everyone & their mom's will be trying to do the same.
