Memphis is guard heavy. Lawrey, Conley and Mayo makes no sense.

They still need to marry Gasol with a foward

Walker-Mayo to ny for somting like Lee-Curry? Lee-ZDumb? Perhaps Chandler Wilson as another piece and Im sure there would be other parts but unles memphis is lookiung to unload the other guards, getting Mayo is redundant.

Certainly Memphis will have many more trading partners for bigs, but anyone else see this or other scenarios?

Mayo isn't going anywhere. One of the other 2 might now

And I don't know what you mean with the Gasol stuff either, unless you are talking about his brother, who is a pretty insignificant piece in the grand scheme and they aren't going to build their team with him in mind whatsoever

I don't think so, Nalod. Lee is the guy they wanted from us and they know they can't re-sign him. Also, they can play Mayo at the 2. Lowry and Conley are both points.

Man, the guy was the MVP of the Spanish league (which has certainly A LOT more quality than college). Signing Pau's brother is a steal for Memphis. In fact, his trade with the Lakers wont look so bad after you see him play. In fact if Memphis coach is no idiot, Marc should be the starting center from day one.

The talking heads described Marc as tougher than Pau. Of course, that isn't saying much, but he probably has more heart & less fear.

I dont think he is very tough really, maybe a bit more. He is definately stronger and a better rebounder. On the other hand he is slower and his offensive game is not that good. Anyway, he is a really good player. He has the same passing skills as his brother.
I cant predict the future, but I will be surprised if he does not succeed. He always gets the job done.

From everything i have ever read about Marc Gasol he has backup NBA Center written all over him.

He did win MVP of the spanish league. Lou Roe and Wálter Herrmann also won MVP of that league.

There is a reason he fell to very late in round 2

Yes, the reason is that when he was drafted 2 years ago, he was not playing.
Yeah, and so did Sabonis, Scola or Noccioni. Is not the same being the MVP when your team does not reach the playoffs (as Herrman did), than winning the MVP by taking your team to the playoffs and pushing very good teams to the limit.
Anyway, in the Olympics USA and Spain will lay against each other, so we can debate this later. ;)

He may be decent, who knows, im only going off what i read. But the point is, the Grizzlies aren't going to trade OJ Mayo because they think "Oh my God, we have to surround the 48th pick in last years draft who has never played an NBA game yet with a Power Forward"

if that piece of gossip is true about lee not wanting to sign there, then no chance for a memphis trade. you need a 3rd team.

and it looks like the knick may not take back ANY long term deal...so this puts on major handcuffs...

I'd like to see Mayo in the Garden. I doubt it though..

I think a trade with Miami is in the cards.
