I read a lot of guys saying: "I trust Walsh".

Well here is a guy that none of us have seen enough to know what he is.

I'm sure if Isiah made this pick he would be killed around here. But he did not make the pick, the supposedly autonomous Walsh did, and he and D'Antoni are purported to have a plan.

Does that color your view of this pick?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Zeke wouldn't have picked him. He never picks foreign players. He would've picked Bayless or Gordon. To answer your question, I don't have an opnion on this kid whoever would've picked him. My only hope is that he has the grapefruits to play here.

i'm happy w/the pick... i think this guy's gonna win over NY fans in time... this is a good test of his mental makeup to be booed like this... he should come into the season w/a chip on his shoulder ready to prove the doubters wrong.

Well said. I wanted Bayless so bad, but this pick could be real good especially if we can flip Lee to a team and bring back a PG and perhaps another pick. Looks like Gallinari can play though. He's big, extremely skilled, he can shoot and get to the rim. I'm OK with the pick as long as we're not done tonight. I want more... We gotta flip Lee somewhere for more assets...

i woulda been happy w/Bayless too but i'm fine w/Danilo... i would love to see another move but i don't mind going into the season w/what we got at this point... doesn't seem like there's any takers at all for Zach & i don't wanna give up D Lee for crap.

There's no way Isiah would've realistically picked Galinarri. If we came off another losing season with Isiah still at hte helm would you be optimistic about anything he did?

Granger was a good pick! I actually think he's had more good picks than bad overall, which is how i'd judge him. Besides this is a WALTONI pick. I mean let's be honest you know D'Antoni had all kind of inside info on this kid from day one.

Isiah would've reached even further. We reached a bit with this one. If it was Isiah, we likely would've gotten an undersized player projected for the second round.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Larry Bird takes credit for Granger. Walsh's impact on drafts go back pre Larry Brown but no one talks about that since his hire. Walsh can't blame Bird for the bad things and then take credit for just the good ones.

Yet Walsh told the media that who he was scouting on his trip.

Wouldn't the avergae poster feel better about it since Isiah supposedly has such an eye for talent? Actually Isiah may even be responsible for this, since he was sent over to scout in Europe. Anyway, I personally would feel the same about it. Optimistic, until proven otherwise. I'm at least willing to see how things go before slamming it, unlike some poeple.

I disagree, I think a greater number of posters would have slammed the pick more just out of Isiah-spite.

However, you are the only person who actually answered the question. For that you won the grand prize! Nothing.

Isiah's the most overrated talent evaluator I've ever seen. Review his draft picks with the Knicks. He had one good pick out of 7 or 8 (Lee). The rest were mediocre, at best. D+.

I think it's true that none of us really appreciated how stupendous Cap'n Zeke actually was as Knicks GM.
