Seriously, what the hell is Walsh waiting for? Shouldn't he be a little more proactive and called all of the teams in the lower third of the first round and asked if their picks were for sale?

yeah, we need to buy another pick meng... there's some good talent that looks to be available in the lower 1st round.

When will the players in this draft have to be resigned?

I wonder if they don't want extra picks because of the cap?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Usually it's because good veteran teams don't want to give a 3 year guaranteed contract to a player who probably won't get much PT.

Does anyone really think there will be someone at 26 that is worth spending the cash for? I think if Walsh really felt there was a compelling reason, he would do it.

If nothing else, it's an asset. CDR is supposedly dropping to around that point in the draft. You wouldn't want to take a shot at him? Or a handful of other guys? It's not like it's cap busting cash.

Knicks have no better way of adding a potentially good player.

Do you think they could wait to see if he falls then buy? Or dont want to get into a bidding war for the pick and buy early?

I understand this is the only way for them to add talent but if you look back at who the Knicks have drafted - its not like there has been an impact player chosen since about the early 90's.

Lee is OK but its not like he is going to win us a championship.

CDR, Batum, Hickson, Jawai, Ibaka, Weems - all guys that are potentially good picks to take in the late 1st round... why not? we're not exactly hurting for funds & it won't kill our longterm cap.

Buy that pick now. Why wait? Nobody is suggesting that they're going to be able to draft a superstar but they can get a nice piece and it won't cost them anything but late first round money.

Walsh needs talent and assets to move players, so why not use it on Batum or Ibaka and let them play in Europe and get better the next two season and bring them over when we get "Cap space"

exactly... we can let these kids play in Europe or even in the D Leagues til some contracts come off the books like Marbs & Malik... i don't see the downsides to it.

Lets say pick 26 has a 1% chance of becoming a regular NBA player in 3 years.

Jerome James has a 100% certainty that he will be out of the league in 3 years.

Better odds are there for Pick 26 becoming something, anything. We need more of something and anything.

You could use the pick and dump Collins.
