See, I am with most people that the new GN'R prolly blows, because to be Guns N' Roses, you have to have the original 5 (Unless, you wanna replace Steve Adler with Matt Sorum, that's fine). However, why the fudge is this album taking so long to be released? Has Axls singing gone to hell? (Not that I thought he was ever a good performer on stage to begin with) Just curious if anyone knows any of this, along with the Velvet Revolver status.

I honestly think the album is not going to be released ever... or at least, while some people are still expecting it to come out. If it comes out someday, it will come out as a big surprise in an BIG announcement few hour before the release. The story behind this album is so funny that at this point I cant imagine any other ending to it. Axl wont release the album as long as he feels it wont get the attention he is looking for. Of course this is jut my opinion, but I think he wants something like Michael Jackson's Thriller, something so amazing and surprising that absolutely everybody will have to listen to it. BTW wheres Gunsewing?

Velvet revolver as far as I know are still looking for a singer. Sebastian Bach (ex skid row) was close to be the one again, but he said he would feel like betraying Axl by doing so because they are close friends, so... thats the situation right now.

I love Axl as an artist. He's absolutely brilliant in that sense, but he's strikes me as a horrible performer, but his arrogance is what really destroyed the old GN'R. So for that, I'm almost hoping that Chinese Democracy gets no attention at all. I think Axl needs his old bandmates desperately, and I bet he knows it now. I wonder if he regrets this lawsuit.

My opinion is pretty similar to yours, but you know Axl is "different", hehe, thats why I dont see him doing those typical reunions of these days like Led Zeppelin, The Police, etc. not at least while people are kind of expecting it (and there are some rumors lately). How many interviews has he given in 10 years? I dont think more than 2, lol. I agree the guy is a genius, but... the Chinese Democaracy thing is getting ridiculous!

He must be really saving lots of money for advertising, publicity... in case he decides to release it someday. The legacy of the band is so big that he must have a master plan to sell millions and millions of album to not feel disappointed in his mind. I also dont like very much the bandmates he has right now, but its hard to really value them after a few shows (though A LOT of years!).

We can only hope he decides to do anything (whatever) someday. 15 years is a lot of time without official new studio songs!!! (it must be a record for a not disbanded band) I would love to see him with Slash, Izzy & Duff, but I dont see it happening with that stubborn Axl!

Axl's singing isn't the problem.

The reason for the delays over the past 13 years have been members leaving, legal problems with getting the record out and Axl himself being a perfectionist. As of right now, the record label has the FINISHED album in their possession but there are problems between Axl and the record label on how to market the album and Axl wanting a new contract to release the album on. Think how much has changed since 1987 when Axl signed the original(which he's still on) contract with Geffen records, with the internet and all that and iTunes, things have changed greatly and both Axl AND the record label have needs that need to be pounded out with a new contract.

But as of right now, the label has the finished album and it's ready to be released whenever the two parties decide on things.
