Just thought it would be fun....

Oh good guess gumshoe! I'm currently running late for work, lol

My story today and its true:

I never heard my alarm. I use my cell phone as an alarm and the **** was wedged in between the wall and my bed. Anyway, I don't drive so I'm late. I called my job @ 643am to tell everyone the bad news. I dont have a office job. My job is time sensitive so me being late is a big thing.

Did I mention I will be at least a cool hour late? Why? Like I said I don't drive and by the time it takes me to go to a atm and call a cab I will still be late......so why waste $25 on a cab and still be late?

Worst thing about this is facing your supervisor when you get there. The lady I have to deal with is a generally nice lady.....but I've been late before. More than once, lol. So she is probably gonna yell @ me. I'm a grown man and I generally don't give a damn but.....I got this "oooooooo, your gonna get in troubllllllllllllle" feeling, lol. That sucks. My co-workers are bad too cuz when I come in and start walking to the office they are gonna be like, "yo they were looking for you", "damn son you a hour late, they gonna send you home?", etc.....like kids.

Well sucks for me, eh? Any late for work stories?

I was late for work last Wednesday. Sucks. I had to be in at 5 am. Like you, it's sort of a big deal when I'm late, too, because I start my machine and start loading it so it is running full when everyone else comes in.

Anyway.

Usually I am up at 4:15 am. I didn't even hear my alarm. It is one of those things that I don't even remember turning it off-if I did-or if I didn't even set my alarm. Anyway, I got the phone call at around 5:20 am. I was in work by 5:45. The good news is no trouble for me, I mean, you can't get in trouble for your power going out, right?

One time I thought I was scheduled to be to work at 12 but I thought it was 1. I strolled in at like 12:45 thinking I was early, walking around and taking my time clocking in. In my case, I just explained what happened to my manager what happened after he called me into his office, and he just gave me a stern talking to, and that was the end of it.

Happened to me once a few years back. I had left early sick the previous day. I couldn't find my manager, so I foolishly told someone else.. who apparently forgot to tell my manager at the time. To make matters worse, about half an hour after I left, he was looking for me. The next day, I was still groggy, and apparently overslept... by about 3 hours. When I got in, I got a "George was looking for you". I found him about an hour later; I didn't know where he was at first. He was pretty pissed, but I told him I'd make up the time. It worked itself out soon enough, but it was an incredibly unlucky and awkward situation.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
