The big man has always had value over the guard in the draft. But the current Knick situation requires a PG sorely. But its not like we'd be making a mistake by taking a big man, since Lee is our only decent one.

Yea I wouldn't mind do that. Get Love with Seattle pick and trade Lee for a lower lotto pick and get Westbrook. Not too shabby?

Knicks are happening and have a Unicorn.

We need an impact player and unless we get Mayo and Rose we wont be getting one. Love atleast has a chance--Im sick of the Knicks scking--go for it and try to get an impact player. Take Love and buyout Randolph--use Marbury for one year. I really dont get it we sck and we want a combo guard

Definitely take Bayless. We already have some good pf's on the roster, Lee and Zach(love him or hate him.) We need a pg propect and if D'Antoni believes Bayless can be taught to run his offense, you have to go with him.

The problem with this team--we have 0 impact players and no team D. If we have the best chance of getting an impact player--take Love. Bayless has short arms and hes 6-3--what team builds around a 6-3 player and wins?

This is where a head coach like D'antoni has more power than the organization, on draft day. Love won't help this team with D'antoni at the helm on the sidelines. He'd be a much better fit if we had any other coach, but him. Kevin Love is a fundamentally sound big man with not much athletic ability, so right off the bat this tells me Walsh won't pull the trigger on him, because now he's forced to comply with D'antoni's needs.

The Knicks need to take a page out of the NY Giants play book of drafting and make the move to get an impact player similar to the way the Giants did with Eli Manning. To me the target should be Mayo and all is available to get him in Orange and blue. If the 6th and Lee + cap space player is enough to get him here it must be done. Future coniderations should be made also, of course protected.

Contrary to what some believe, I think Love would actually be a very good fit in D'Antoni's system.

He is a highly skilled bigman with a great basketball IQ and can throw some great outlet passes to start the fast break. Love would be a great offensive weapon for D'Antoni to utilize because of his excellent mid-range game and low-post game.

With that said, Balyess is certainly the type of player we need more right now. Personally, I think we have so many holes on this team that you got to take the best player available regardless of position. Unless we make some trades to win now, I don't think you should only look at guards with pick 6. We need an impact player badly and I trust that Donnie already knows this. I'm not sure if we will be drafting on Thursday, but if we are, we have to nail this pick and take the best guy available, its that simple.

If you believe everything you say--then why wouldnt you take Love over Bayless? At the end of the day isnt Love more of an impact player? Bayless favors one arm and look how teams figured him out late in the season. Atleast I know Love is an inside warrior with a good head and outside shot. If were going to take a ready player--a guy who needs no time to develop---wouldnt you start with an inside warrior?
When you watched Boston maul the Lakers inside--doesnt that give people a clue?

everyone wants randolph a nd curry gone---and then in the next breath want a 6-2 player----great strategy

BRIGGs, I didn't say I would take Bayless over Love. I think we need someone like Bayless more right now but like I said, I think we have to take the guy that will be more of an impact player.

Honestly, I like both players a lot. If I had to pick right now, I'd probably go with Love but I don't have the amount of information and videos that our front office has. I haven't even seen what Love looks like these days because apparently he has gotten in better shape.

I just want this franchise to take the guy they feel is the best player left on the board. If its Love, then good, I trust their judgment. If the player is Bayless, same thing, I trust their judgment. I just hope we don't draft out of need.

I will add this though. If we have any shot at Mayo whatsoever, we have to do whatever we can to get him. I'm convinced Mayo is the real deal. I'd be very happy with either Bayless or Love but I'd be ecstatic with Mayo.

If we take Love where does he play? We are not buying out Zach so you can stop trying to sell that idea. Lee would also have to be moved.

Look, I want Zach gone just as much as anyone, but it doesn't look like thats going to happened. So if thats the case, we might need to figure out a way to build a team that Zach can be a apart of. With this in mind, we need to move Curry and get a defensive minded center who can block shots/defend/run the floor and impact the game without having many touches (Jordan? if we can pick up an additional pick). We also need better perimter defenders (Westbrook at 6?).

I'm just not optimistic that Zach is going anywhere anytime soon. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree Mayo is an impact player and he played out of position last year at USC. People forget he was a PG in HS and you can tell my his handle. At 6-4/6-5 I consider him an impact player at the PG position. I really believe after Rose and Mayo while guys like Westbrook Bayless are going to be good
pro players I cannot put the word impact next to them. But I think it's a tall order to get to 3.

Briggs- I agree we need an impact player- we really don't have any.

Isiah winning useless games this season cost us.

That said, we have so many needs that if we can't add an impact player this year, we really need to focus on next year. Sorry Mike, but as much as I want you to win, I need you to loose a bunch of games.
