zach makes 17.3 mil going into the 2010/2011 season.
curry will make 11.3 mil if he doesn't opt out the season before.

i think the knicks can take the 6 mil difference and will not really hurt the cap plan of the summer of 2010.

maybe the most likely situation is to move curry for a deal 1 year shorter.

suggestion: curry for ridnour + petro + #24 + #32

Yeah yeah.....I like the idea.

But is luke ridinour a starter? I see him platooning with Nate but Nate winning that battle......Petro is very interesting cuz he started showing good signs he can seriously play this game......#24 & #32???

Nice.

I'd agree that Curry is easier to move, and lets be honest - Zach, though he might have some diva in him, is a more rounded player (hey, they're both pretty round)- he can board, he can pass when he sets his mind to it, and he can do something besides shoot from the lane.

I think as a player, he is a better fit for D'Antoni.

Is Curry's value really higher? I don't think so.

the way i see it, ridnour is really just a stop gap...but you kind of see the philosphy behind making a deal like this. i think zach's trade value is nil and keeping both he and curry next season would be the one of the dumbest things any gm could do.

Ridnour's a backup and Petro's upside is being a good backup. The two picks are late and will give us more backups. We've got loads of backups. I'd give them Curry for the chance to move up from 6 to 4 and one of those two late picks. We could take Petro and one of Wilcox, Ridnour, Marshall or Watson off their hands - their choice.

ira - the initial trade i proposed in other threads were curry + 6 for ridnour + petro + 4

how about this:

curry for

etan thomas + 18 + 47 or
etan thomas + andre blatche + 47 or
etan thomas + 18 + 2010 #1?

I'd agree and I can't imagine Walsh & D'Antoni wanting to head into next season with both. I think this has to be the number one priority, more so that creating space in 2010- I know they won't take more money back - but if you added money on Curry, might not be worse thing as Zach might rehabilitate value without the log jam up front.

Blatche is gonna be a stud. I would trade Lee for him straight up.

If curry can go in this trade and we also bring back one of my favorite players in etan thomas? Nice.
