I know people are lukewarm on him. To a degree, I can respect that, but none of us have REALLY seen him beyond youtube. And if he measures out in the 6'9+, 220+ range....that's impressive, especially given his ball skills.

Now, everything I've seen has him as a jumbo sized, skillful SF who can offer some minutes at PF. If that's the case & if we were to draft him, what's the trade value of our other SF's:

Q - value = box of broken pencils with no erasers
JJ2 - value = ham & cheese on rye
Balk - value = would have been decently high after his rookie season, butprobably at all time low now
Chandler - value = can Chandler land us # 13 (Augustin) or Suns # 15 or package w/ Marbury for Baron Davis & the GS # 1 ?? What's the perception of his trade value?

While I'm at it, has anybody seen Gallinari play an actual game? Do you know if he'll be in the Olympics?

I get the feeling that, in Gallinari, we're talking about a very good shooter with a good handle who is on the slow side and won't play much d. I'd rate him about 7 or 8 on my top ten list, which means I like him better than some here.

Speaking of this, I was hoping we could start a thread where everyone lists their top ten. Would Martin and Andrew consider making this a 'sticky' thread until a day or two after the draft?

unlike the last guy I dont sense there will be an gimmickry with this draft, whether they use the pick or trade it. DW is going to focus on putting together a team that his coach can coach and get back into the playoffs. At the same time he's either going to try and maintain a flexible roster or add pieces for future moves.

Based on Waltoni's track record I am going to be openminded and optimistic.

Hell.. I gave Isiah an openmind, I can be patient w/ Waltoni

i think he's got some nice skills based on the clips i've seen... i don't see the softness in him that people are claiming either... seems like he drives pretty hard to the hole & plays w/some intensity... personally i think he's gonna be a lot better than a Boki Nachbar, but what do i know.

Gallinari is going to be a solid player. I personally want to pick up Augustine so we can solve our point guard situation, but having a skilled SF with good size is only going to help us. I cant imagine him trying to guard the Lebrons, Pierces, and Tmacs of the league tho. Than again, there are going to be very few players that are going to match up well with those guys. I peronally dont want him but I wont be upset if we end up with him.

As far as out other small forwards they have zero trade value. Lol, if the best we have is Wilson Chandler than we are in a lot of trouble.
