Reports that Minnesota is open to trading the pick. The only real borderline wildcard that needs to happen is Memphis selecting Lopez over Love - and reports are they like Lopez.

I'm thinking Lee + Love for Mayo is going to happen on draft night.

I guess I don't get some of the thinking here. Why does Riles need to create a smokescreen when he has the #2? I guess I can see why Minnesota would want to squeeze a little more out of the Knicks to get Love and whatever by selecting Mayo (if they think NY will even take Mayo), but that puts them in a big risk position by giving another team a chance to nab Love.

Riles smokescreen was to not tip his hand to the Bulls about which of the big two he wanted.

Like I said, the only wildcard is Memphis and supposedly they like Lopez, but who knows what they're thinking. after that Gasol trade I don't think anyone can claim to understand Memphis.

this is provided the sonics and memphis do not take mayo or love.

Minnesota impressed with Kevin Love


The Timberwolves were very impressed with UCLA's Kevin Love after he worked out for the team on Tuesday, according to The Pioneer Press.

He worked out for the team for roughly ninety minutes, performing well enough that the team is reportedly considering taking him with the third overall pick.

"I thought he was very good," assistant general manager Fred Hoiberg said. "He's just such a smart player who's got a high basketball IQ. He's a tremendous passer, and he can space the court with his shooting. I thought he was very impressive."

Love believes that he will fall no further than the sixth overall selection in next Thursday's draft.

"I think top six," he said. "I'm pretty confident that I will go in the top six."

All we can do is hope that they select Love #3 and HOPEFULLY that leads to Mayo falling to us. We'll see...

I agree, I dont thinnk Love gets past Memphis. The Bulls jumping to 1 and knocking us down one has put us just on the outskirts of the real meat of the lotto. After 5, there are some question marks. Best case scenerio would be for us to move Lee and 6 and absorb a contract (Jaric?, Walker?) along with the 3. We have to make it worth thier while.

If the Knicks want to get rid of Zach Randolph they better have a plan to replace him. David Lee might be better coming off the bench and Curry --while he should be afforded every posible chance to succeeed---coming off knee surgery for a plyer that big there will be ????

unless the plan is to draft augustine and start filling up the roster with under 6 foot players.

why would anything riley says effect the bulls? the bulls have the #1 pick, they control their own fate. if anything, he's trying to guage the market for the #2 pick and see if a team that wants mayo will trade up for it.

riles just likes screwing with people and not having anyone know his plans. remember, no one thought he was gonna take Wade on draft night.

Not sure I would do that... open to it yes. It comes down to how much waltoni values Mayo. Lee is a lot of give up for him, especially when you consider we are moving to an uptempo system. How about we just keep Love, and sent Lee to the Nets then draft Westbrook? Love is a banger with an exceptional BB IQ and is regarded as one of the best passing bigs in years. Doesnt that seem like a good fit for us?

If I offered you guys two scenarios and you had to pick one what would you go with?
1) draft Love and trade Lee for an extra pick to draft Westbrook
2) draft Mayo and use Lee to move up to get him

i think we should change his name to crzymdgetridofallwhiteplayersups...
