Its a shame that his team sucks because of blown saves, cool bats, and errors......but its Willies fault?

I guess omar minaya can't fire himself.

The pitching coach and 1st base coach get the ax too.

So now I gotta hear about this at work for the next few months. Thanks.

i'm sorta relieved for him... he was getting way too much flack for the pisspoor way his team was performing for him... he probably could use some time away from the game at this point.

what a pathetic way to handle a firing. this ranks up their with isiah firing chaney. classless.

I thought omar was supposed to be a good gm. I guess not.

Another thing, they did it on the west coast......I hope Willie already knew it was going to happen and they decided to let him go on the West coast to give him a little break before he gets back east.

I wonder how they are going to fly him back? Coach?

Classy would be sending Wilpons private jet (I assume he has one).

But, I'm betting on coach, back of the plane, middle seat.

omar has isiah like tendencies...

Isiah and his chicago familia = omar and his dominican parade

Marbs = delgado

Bad signings and trades all mixed between 3 young guys who are wasting their prime years. (Beltran, reyes, Hot Corner Hottie = Lee, Nate, and Craw to an extent)

They both like to talk **** and in parables and fairy tale talk.

The "fire" chants are screwed up to......"fi-rrr-I-za-yah" and "fi-rrr-mi-ni-yah".......

Sad just sad.

you can't compare the mets to the knicks. you can argue that beltran, reyes and wright are the best in the nl in their position. nate, lee and craw are no where near that level. this team was uninspired from the start so wille deserved to get fired. i thought they should have done it last year but i see their logic by giving him the benefit of the doubt. this team at least have talent though it is one of the oldest teams in the league. on paper, it should have a better record. we all saw that randolph talking has become white noise to the team. its a shame because i don't know if they can recover or not. i personally think that we need a manager who will flip over the buffet table once in a while ( not all the time like bowa). manuel seems like randolph except he has experience.

unlike the yanks and redsox who have now spent money on the farm system the past few years (where they rank top 5), the mets have left their farm system basically barren (except for that outfielder they keep talking about). so they have no choice but to win right now so they can't afford to ride with willie.

i keep telling a friend of mine, who's a huge mets fan, that despite the perception that everything has gone wrong this season, despite the total panic attack mets fans are having and despite the vultures in the press...it's only june and they're only 5 games back in the loss column to the phillies with over 90 games to play.

the 4 game sweep in san diego had nothing to do with willie. wagner blew 3 straight games. they are starting to hit and have won 3 of the last 4. pelfrey is pitching much better, delgado and beltran and finally wright are hitting...things seem to be turning around. but then they go ahead and fire willie anyway. i don't get it...total sign of desperation.

but i think the bigger thing is firing peterson b/c that effects all levels of your organization. but with no real farm system, i guess it may not be that big a deal. at least you can always think of him when you see kazmir strike out 10 more batters each game.

We got our first Met Fan! Welcome Jazz!

Didn't say lee, Nate and Craw were the best anything. Just said they were young guys wasting their prime years with the mismanagement.

Flipping the table wouldn't fire me up. In a baseball setting that would make me wanna break the managers jaw. Grown men don't need to be screamed on to motivate them. That's bull****. What the Mets do need is better help for their big 3 in Wright, reyes and beltran before they get too old to even bother. Wags needs help and starting pitching needs help as well.

Minaya, minaya, minaya,......

the team sucks because they don't respond to willie and willie is more of an AL manager.

Getting rid of Peterson was a huge mistake.

Minaya, minaya, minaya,......

they fired the guy on the first day of a west coast trip...headscratcher...

wilpons are shady dudes...i think this firing wasn't on minaya (although now he gets the spotlight based on the roster he put together)

i don't know why peterson wuold remind anyone of kazmir since that was all on the wilpons.

Which is supposed to be Church and Alou. This is more on Minaya than Willie although willie makes dumb substitutions and sometimes forgets to doubleswitch.

starting pitching needs help as well.

This isn't the yankees. santana, pedro, maine, and even pelfrey are fine.

Seriously, and after a game that they won. Then they fire him at past 3am on the east coast. They knew they were going to fire him but they drag him out to the West Coast for a day. I wouldn't put it past them that that was their plan, to do it as far away from NY as possible and in the middle of the night. Totally gutless and classless.

The Wilpons like to walk around with their noses in the air and act like they're above reproach. But the way they blame others for their actions and treat people like crap shows what they're really all about.

I'm happy for Willie. He doesn't have to be a scapegoat any longer. Now the spotlight is on Minaya and the Wilpons. The whole new stadium thing isn't going to last long with the type of team they're going to put in it.

Omar signed all these VETS(old broken down players) and expect Willie to win. Alou played like what 10 games, where's el duque? My ten year old son has a better swing than our second baseman, and don't get me started on carlos delcrapo, It kills me to see Jacobs laying lumber for the Marlins at first base. Omar you suck ass, fire yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Omar is an ass and so are the douchebags he brought in. They dont care about winning.. they want to collect pay checks and listen to salsa. Willie deserved better, and I hope he ends up back in the Yanks org.

Of all the sports managing in baseball is the most overrated. You have to manage a pitching staff. Aside from that you cant coach a pitcher to throw strikes or a batter not to yack at sliders in the dirt with 2 strikes. If Wilie has to tell those *******s to play harder they shouldnt be in the

thats why when he forgets to do simple things like a doubleswitch, it doesn't look good.
