Assuming the first five picks are as expected, who is your choice with the sixth pick.

There's a harmonic convergence between the first five players selected between nbadraft.net and draftexpress.com. Both have the first five going as Rose Beasley Mayo Bayless Love Many here seem to agree with that group of five in some order will be the first five players selected. My question is who you would use on the sixth pick. Let's keep it focused on individual players. We can consider the possibility of trading up or trading down in another thread.
Anthony Randolph
Eric Gordon
Russell Westbrook
Brook Lopez
Danilo Gallinari

I think right now that our pool will come out of these 5 players

Mayo
Randolph
Love
Bayless
Westbrook

Thats as far as board should go. This is a VERY tough draft--- toughest in 20 years but I think with two weeks to go that these 5 guys should be the main targets

Also if they thought that they could get one of these players and this particular player was way up on their board[well above the other 3-4 guys and that moving up was really worth it]--I think a swap with 4[Seattle is a doable deal]

If those 5 are gone that would be absolutely the worst case scenario. I'm hoping that any of the 5 will be available for us.

if those 5 are gone, that means rose + beasley fall to the knicks.

one of those 5 will be there at #6.

Minny might be a viable partner awell. They need to fill quite a few holes on thier roster and maybe they will take a player (Curry?) to fill a hole and get an additional pick at 6. I'm sure its far fetched but its worth a shot. We need to get our hands on one of the top 3 players.

Swapping with Seattle should be a second option as it would at least assure us the ability to draft the 4th best player in the draft (Bayless). Not sure what seattle would want. Seattle is moving to Oklahoma so we can't play the Nate and Craw card anymore.

I certainly hope so...

DJ, out of all the people that propose trades on here, yours are easily the most sane and even for both teams lol.

So if we get the 4th pick and Ridnour, who do we take at 4? If Mayo, Beasley and Rose are goen, do we still take Bayless even though we got Ridnour? If no to Bayless, then who?

Good question uptown. I would still go Bayless. Ridnours contract can definitely traded as it's not a horrendous deal.

I'll be honest though uptown, I don't think the T'Wolves are going to pick Mayo, I really think they are going to take Lopez or Love, so my prevailing thought about the 4th pick is that Mayo will be there, but that' just me.

I'm torn between Westbrook/Gordon. I voted Westbrook because he's the better player now and has some upside, but Gordon has a higher ceiling. I agree with purple with Joe Alexander too. I think he's going to be good down the line.

Oh and I would very easily do Curry+6 for Ridnour, Petro+4. IN a second.

this team needs a point guard right now. ridnour is a point guard and he's not a total scrub. but he's not the answer at that position. if they feel bayless is the guy, then draft him and bring him along slowly while ridnour starts. ridnour's done in 2 years so he can be moved easily. and petro may do well in the system.

I think thats where we differ a little. As inept as Minny has been over the years, I can't see Mchale passing on the third best player in the draft. True, Minny already has a few undersized 2 guards, (McCants, Foye) but Mayo is better than both of them. I dont see them taking Love who plays the same position as Jefferson and I think 3 is a little too high for Lopez. Thats why I think it is possible to swap with Minny, but we really need a good package for that.

I think you're dead on with this one. The only way Minny goes with Lopez is if they really, really, REALLY want to get Jefferson to play PF. But he can play C, so I don't see the harm in having him play C one more year, especially when they could have BRewer play PF and have all those guards you mentioned play 1-3 in a small lineup. When they finally do get a C, Minny will have a more than solid three guard rotation.

Have to go Gordon.

Don't like what I've seen from Gallanari (I may be wrong)
Randolph looks like a project with big chance to dissapoint
Lopez is intriguing but something about the kid scares me off
Westbrook - I think there may be something to the fact he hasn't shown point skills and he's not a scoring guard

Gordon is the best player, with great athleticism, a great body with long arms and a big time player.

Say what you want but we still need guys to put the ball in the hole - particularly with this offense.

no problems taking gordon BUT...is this guy, at 6'3, a starting SG on a team that can win 45-50 games? think down the road...i think b/c of his height, there will be several mismatches...especially in the postseason.
