I have never been a conspiracy theorist but I have questioned alot of things that have happened recently and I am beginning to wonder if the league office has been playing a role in building up its marquee team/markets. The Gasol trade to the Lakers was ridiculous. No other team was aware that Gasol was on the block. Popovich called for a commitee to review trades to determine if they are too one sided. There has been speculation that Jerry West was involved. However it happened, it determined who would win the western conference. The Garnett trade, while not as one sided also determined a conference champion and also involved an executive with connections to the team where Garnett went. There were other comparable or at least on paper better deals for Garnett. The final thing that has me pondering this is the fact that Chicago got the #1 pick with less than a 2% chance of winning. These are the three biggest and most popular teams of the last twenty years. Each somehow got the opportunity to rebuild to a championship caliber or at least a lock for the playoffs because of remarkable luck or some other factor. This is also at a time when the NBA does not have a major network TV contract like it did in the past.

Gregg Popovich is the last person in the NBA that should be questioning the ethics of other teams since this is the guy who TANKED to get Tim Duncan in a Spurs uniform.

And sending Horry in as a Henchman to dumb up a series.

Looks like Dolan and Isiah are good man - they refused to participate in NBA conspiracy.

When I allow my thoughts to run with these unexplained, convenient occurences that will decide the NBA championship and increase the mainstream popularity of the sport I think Stern is punishing Dolan Sr. for his son and Isiah the sexual harrasing, franchise destroying, narcissistic, racist who accused the best fans in sports of causing the Knicks to lose still being employed by the Knicks.

the problem with your celtics example is if stern had the fix, he simply would have gotten them the #1 pick in oden- I believe they had the worst record and ended up at 5.

the gasol trade, while 1 sided, and the kg trade, do show it helps to have good relations with other gms, and owners might not get fair value because of those relationships.

I do think we need to look at play off officiating much more closely- and phil jackson's idea of setting up refs as independent from the league makes way too much sense to do- and for him to say it as probably the single biggest beneficiary of favored calls says something!

Speaking of bogus, the Mods locking my Playa congratulation thread is totally bogus, especially with all kind of wack threads currently running wild! Anti-Playa conspiracy.

Crushalot, I called out that Gasol trade when it happened and all the usual suspects told me how crazy I was. Now it has come up again and again. That trade was one of the worst in the history of the game and the most suspect trade I can recall. The Lakers traded garbage for a possible dynasty.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Why should there be a congratulations Playa thread when you can just congratulate him in the thread thats already ongoing?

Geez, because that ongoing thread is not about his congratulations. He deserves his own thread after all his hard work.

You don't have a big enough juice card oohah.. you think you can stop posting for awhile and then just come back out of the blue and make a congratulations thread? Unless you're congratulating myself, BasketballJones or Bippity, that ain't gonna fly man.

PLaya been real quiet the last few days.

I hope nobody made him disappear!

Do we really have an "I TOLD you so" event?

Is there a smoking gun? A convicted Felon singing needs more proof than suggestion, even if he is 100% right Donahey has not cred what so ever, so he needs 200% evidence to make this legit.

If its true I hope they turn the league over and clean it up.

Its nice that Pau is doing well, but Chicago could have had him last summer but old man reinsdorf can't make a decision any more, and lets face it, Pau came off a broken leg, and really has not shown that except now he is paired with some really good players, under the guiese of perhaps the greatest coach in history, now fans are crying "foul"?

Like I said, if things are not right we need proof to nail them.

People were crying foul about the Pau trade as soon as it happened. So were NBA execs who did not know that he was available and certainly would have offered more than the Grizz got from the Lakers. I think Jeff Van Gundy's comments and subsquent record fine is the smoking gun to go along with Donaghy.

Why does Playa deserve a congratulations at all? When you fire enough random shots in the air, eventually one might hit a bird.

This one was obvious to a lot of people.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

i think the same can be said about a lot of other posters on this forum who do get plenty of congratulations thrown their way for their predictions.
