I'm talking ballpark numbers of course. Obviously numbers fall off as the players age. I'm talking numbers at the peak of thier careers. I'll start it off woth the consensus top seven for most of the year:

Beasley 21 pts 9 rbs 2 ast 1 stls 47 fg% 1 blks

Rose 19 pts 4 rbs 7 ast 2 stls 44 fg% 0 blks

Mayo 18 pts 5 rbs 5 ast 1 stls 45 fg% 0 blks

Bayless 17 pts 3 rbs 6 ast 1 stls 44 fg% 0 blks

Love 15 pts 10 rbs 3 ast 1 stls 48 fg% 1 blks

Gordon 16 pts 4 rbs 3 ast 1 stls 43 fg% 0 blks

Lopez 10 pts 7 rbs 1 ast 1 stls 46 fg% 1 blks

Predicting the fg% is a little tricky considering we dont know the makeup of the teams they will play for what type of role they will play and the quality of the player around them. Gordon's numbers can change depending on what the caoch wants to do with him. If he is forced to play the point, his numbers will change.

Mayo

24 pts 4 reb 5 ast 1 stl 46% 0 blk

Beasley

28 Pts 12 reb 3 ast 1 stl 1 blk 51%

Bayless

19 pts 5 rebs 9 asts 2 stl 43% 0 blk

those are the only three I disagree on
Beasley is going to be exceptional...the kid is a fantastic score who can beat from anywhere on the court and is a absolute monster on the boards. I just cant see a team keeping him out of that PF spot to play the SF because rebounding is such a important part of his game, and is his second best attribute (behind scoring). So just try to imagine a Zach Randolph or a Pau Gasol trying to guard him...its basically a mismatch everynight because he can take you inside or take you outside.

Mayo is going to have one of the best midrange jumpers in the league, and hes going to use it like Kobe (all the pump fakes) and draw the foul. 24 pts might be a little to cautious because he can do everything a shooting guard needs to do (shoot the 3, the midrange, drive, finish, and draw fouls).

I just don't think your giving enough credit to Bayless because he is also a proficient scorer

28 & 12? holy crap, that's better than KG, Amare, Dwight Howard, Duncan & Yao ever were!

With the exception of Howard, I think Beasley is on the same level rebounding wise... the guy averaged 20 boards a game pretty deep into the season and he is playing D1 ball so its not against total stiffs, so I dont think 12 rebs is out of this world. And I think he is better scorers than all of those players. Out of the group I would think KG is the best "scorer" because of his versatility, with Yao behind him, Duncan behind yao, Amare behind Duncan, and finally Dwight on a low level by himself (all he does is dunk, he has almost no post moves). Beasley is by far the most versatile player in this list. HE has the ability to take the defender inside with various effective post moves (the fade-away, uses his quickness to do a "Spin", and sometimes just overpowers people) or can use his outside game (he has a nice stroke from all over the court and people have to respect his driving ability--> that frees his "j" up). Most players have offensive weaknesses (i.e.-- KG cannot be a banger down low and get easy baskets off post moves, Dwight can't shoot, Amare can't create for himself, Tim Duncan is perfect inside 15 feet but average at best everywhere else) but Beasley can do all of these things.

Plus, think of Beasley's 28 & 12 as a Zach Randolph 28 & 12 because he is going to bring attitude problems and no defense to whomever drafts him. Just because the guy can put up numbers dosen't mean he is better than the group above, most of those guys are WINNERS and give it their all everytime out, something which Beasley might not do. (I do hope he proves me wrong though)

Those are legendary numbers you are predicting for Beasley. I dont see it. From the time I saw him, he reminded me of Derrick Coleman but not quite as big.

Beasley is very versatile, as you say, NYB, but I dont think he can overppower guys in the NBA as he did in college. And I think KG is more versatile than Beasley particularly on the defensive end.

All I know is that the 16th pick, whoever he is, is going to be a Hall of Famer.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Beasley isn't even the same player as a shaq and Malone. Beasley is gonna be like Terry Cummings or maybe Larry Johnson in their primes. Derrick Coleman is the ultimate example...a dude that can score inside but show you a jumpshot and some good driving/face up game.

Uptown, I'd take 1-2 points from your point totals for each of the first four players. Otherwise, I'd say your prediction was on the mark.
