I would probably see if I could move up within reason. Seattle at 4 could be swayed by a $$$ proposition with what is going on there.
Staying at 6 is great
Moving down to 16 to get rid of randolph is a 0/100 option we need good players and we must be aggresive in that search.

I'm more interested in trying to move up and securing a better position and player. Minny, Seattle and Memphis may all be apt to trade down for the right price. If Minny really wants Lopez, they can definitely gte him at 6.

Moving out of 6 to 16 isn't a good option IMO......

You needed to start a new thread for this? Couldn't you have at least reminded us that Zach was an 18 year old 30-20 center?

An offer of Malik, Balkman, $3 mil and the #6 for Walker and the #3 would be a great deal.

Antoine Walker? I'd rather not want to see Chubby Chucker in a NYK jersey.

i would be fine w/moving up to #3 to nab either Mayo or Beasley, or using the pick to trade down for either an extra pick or to unload Zach's albatross.

I'd gladly move up to the 3. Whats the price though? I really dont think money is going to get that done Briggs, when in the history of the NBA has a team swapped picks based on money?

I don't think there is anyway that you move down to dump Zach. You cannot put up numbers like he does if you are not tremendously talented. Someone will take on his contract without sacrificing the pick. The Knicks won 23 games last year. They need to start the rebuilding process from a realistic place. Getting rid of 20 and 10 and the 6 pick so that you might have the opportunity to sign a big time player in two years makes no sense.

Woops sorry about that. I meant high lotto picks, not just picks overall since teams like the Suns have sold their picks annually.

When has a team sold a lotto pick?

nyk4ever swapping positions in the lottery or elsewhere happen all the time. Marbury was a swap. 6-4 is not a big move.

Lets say we wanted Love and Seattle wanted Bayless. Seattle knows that Memphis is not taking Bayless. We give them 3mm+ the 6 position saves them an additional 1.7mm over 3 years for the same player.

u seem very sure of this... can you name a few probables that will give us cap space in a Zach trade & not demand any other assets in return?

btw, Zach was 17 & 10 for us last year & for his career is a 16 & 8 player, so can we please stop it w/the '20 & 10' talk for God's sakes?

When has a team sold a lotto pick?

Portland traded with Chicago for the pick we sent for EC

And for what?

I could see Seattle trading their pick for ours & $3MM

And I think 6 & Nate would be worth it to get Mayo or possibly Beasley.

I guess I'm confused. I thought Briggs meant just straight-out BUY a lotto pick, not swap or anything, just one team sells their lotto pick to another. I don't think thats what he meant though. Sorry for the confusion.

A swap from 3-6 is definitely possible though, which is what I think Briggs was getting at...

Walker is a FA in a year or 2. I wouldn't keep him. Or he'd be like 9th or 10th man if that.

Right now Id like the Knicks to bring in Kevin Love. If he really improved this much this fast than he has to be a priority target.
