An NBA source said the Clippers aren't expected to make Livingston a qualifying offer (the lowest starts at $5.8 million), making him an unrestricted free agent July 1. But with major knee concerns, it's uncertain the Clippers, or any team, will be rushing to sign him. According to the source, Livingston can't work out back-to-back days and needs about 90 minutes of therapy before doing noncontact basketball drills. There is speculation he might not be able to play at the NBA level again.

I'd offer him some sort of low-risk contract and hope that he can regain his form under D'Antoni.

That really sucks. I liked his game too - he's the type of point guard we need.

I wouldn't be surprised if his career is over - that knee injury was just gruesome.

Well just think if he blew his knee out playing in college he would be broke now.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'd rather not take flyers on guys who are likely to just be wearing suits on game day.

That's not what we need at this point. Jerome James has enough company on the bench without adding another buddy for him to sit on the pine with.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah, no medical plan on the plantation.
Give it a rest already. Professional sports is high-risk/high-reward occupation.
Not everyone makes it to the pros, injury or not.

that sucks, but he is still just a baby, is he even 22 yet? I would have him see a series of doctors, work him out and if he can get past that sign him to an incentive type contract, if the NBA allows that. A short deal, give him time to let that knee heal, look at how many times Mcdeyse blew that knee out and he can still play.. I know livingstons injury was devestating, but who knows , given time, he may be able to play again..

It sounds like it will be 5-6 months before he can even begin to workout for a team. He probably needs to sit out half the season and then sign for a minimal deal and prove his worth. If he can contribute to a team in the second half of the season without getting hurt, he can probably sign a 3-4 year deal next summer.
Trust the Process
