Here's an idea for a trade to get a better pick for the raps
#13 To Toronto
#33 pick
#36 Pick
#55 Pick
Channing Frye

To Portland
17th Pick
Jose Calderon

Portland get their Point Guard they wanted in Jose & they also get a 17th pick.

I read Eric Smiths Blog on the fan590.com Byran Colangelo has been working out lots of second round picks in the upcoming days. With the 13th Pick in the draft the Raptors could get a scorer they need. Raptors also get Channing Frye who could be into the rotation.

From what I have heard, the Raptors are not looking to trade Calderon. TJ Ford is the guy on the block.

I'd much rather have Calderon than a bunch of 2nd round picks who are just gonna take up roster spots (and moving up from 17 to 13, which isn't much).

One thing only a few of you know about toronto is this, they only like to operate on the cheap.

This is one of the reasons why Players don't want to play there.

They picked up Jamario moon on the cheap, but never addressed their rebounding problem after all these yrs without anyone who can grab rebounds consistently.

It's time to call a spade a spade !

Toronto even with colangelo at the helm are still operating on the cheap this is why they want to take their chances on finding a 2nd rd gem instead of going out and picking up a proven veteran who can help them on the frontline.

I believe that there is also a difference on how they are taxed there. Players like to play in Florida because I believe that there is no income tax. I think in Canada they loose alot of their money to taxes.

Try playing in NY or Calif, they tax you too death and nobody complains.

The canadian exchange is almost equal now with the american dollar so money isn't the issue anymore.

You forgot to read the blue print!
#13 To Toronto
#33 pick
#36 Pick
#55 Pick
and Channing Frye

plus they already have TJ FORD who is as healthy as he was as a rookie.

A bunch of 2nd rounders and Frye? That blueprint is hardly worth reading!

playa, you know how much bc values jose. if they are going to move him...the portland must offer up jack, webster or outlaw, and the 13th pick.

They need a rebounder and you know it 1st and foremost.

My original post I made the point that Toronto has been operating on the cheap and just wants to pick up another gem with low picks.

DJ you should know Toronto doesn't want to spen any money, trhe fans on the talks shows have mentioned it over and over again.

Colangelo might covet Calderon, but he also doesn't want to spend any money to find what the team really needs.

and frye is that rebounder? is there a rebounder at 13 that's not there at 17?

i see a tj ford for haslem or tj for an expiring and a pick. they have very few assets to add to their team...trading jose for 13 doesn't make sense...

Any idea of who can be their rebounder at # 13 ?

I do not believe Colangelo will spend big money on a bonafide PF who specializes in rebounding, but will settle for somebody like frye on the cheap.
