The New Jersey Nets own picks 10 and 21 in the first round of the NBA Draft later this month, and according to GM Kiki Vandeweghe, the team is fielding a number of calls from opponents who are interested in trading, the New York Post is reporting.

"We're starting to get calls on the number 10 pick and 21. Later in the first round is getting very popular," said Vandeweghe.

"People are seeing this is a deep draft. They're going to find somebody they like," Vandeweghe added. "So I probably fielded five or six calls [Thursday] on 10 and 21. The discussions are starting. What that tells you is we have the opportunity or the chance to get somebody pretty good there."

i hope Walsh is at least considering the same options... personally i'd rather we traded the #6 in the proposed Philly deal than give it up for NJ's #10 & 21, unless of course you could parlay the #21 to get rid of 1 of our bad contracts.

Truth is that we have enough #21 picks on our roster and so does Kiki.

whatever. Only teams with late picks speak that mess.. why is kiki trying to trade both picks? or even entertaining it? I know it isn't to move further down, he is also trying to move up... If he means what he says, then lets see if he will trade picks 10 and 21 for picks 15 and 30.....LOL.. come on, he is trying to sell someone both picks so he can move up...

well no kidding, isn't that obvious? Kiki wants to move up & we have a higher pick to offer him... i'm telling u i would rather make the Philly deal than trade down w/the Nets & using the #10 pick to unload Zach's deal... the only way i would rather do this is if Walsh could use the #21 to get rid of a bad deal.

well would you trade pick 6 to the nets for 10 and 21 and then see if the sixers would do zach and pick 21 for evans and a future first round pick? so the worst we do is move down 4 spots, the sixers get zach and pick 21 and they don't have to give up their 16th pick to do so..... I don't think the sixers do it, they really want that 6th pick, and if left up to me, I tell them to go kick rocks..

as i said before that scenario is the ideal... only problem is would Philly make the deal? i dunno if they would... besides, we wouldn't have the #6 anymore if we made the Nets deal, we'd have the #10 & 21 after trading down w/them, so unless you're saying you wouldn't pull this deal off unless you had the other in place w/Philly already, i'm not seeing where this debate is going.
