Depends on or what position your are targeting in the FA class of 2010. If you are targeting the backcourt then you need to beef up your frontline. If you are targeting DinoBosch and the like then you need a good backcourt.

If I am targeting LeBron, Wade or CP3(is he FA in 2010?), then this is the 7 man core I want to present to them

DLee - Rugged, hustle type 4 with a great work ethic and a character guy
The Mayor - All around SF with great skills
OJ Mayo - Lead guard (draft gods smiled on us and we get him at 6)
Hasheem Thabeet - Defensive monster that guards that paint (2009 pick)
Balkman - All energy 6th man and consumate team player
Insert Sharpshooter here...
Insert another PF/C here...

Yup...I would present that to them.

OK Im making my point. IF we DONT sign David Le or at a minimumget a vfery high draft pick for him and then we do somthing absurd like flipping pick 6 for pick 16 just to get rid of Randolph--ytou are walking into a different problem--you are purging your self of talent.

If I was the owner--keep Lee. Keep the pick. Lets see if we can find just one player on the cheap like we did with Josn Starks Mason through cheap FA maybe a Patrick Obryant who may be much better in a different atmosphere. Lets do fair trades where we are not trading at a position of weakness. a Position of weakness is attempting to clear cap space while purging the roster to do so. Lets get Dantoni to make these plays play better. We will have cap space guaranteed in 2011 if it does not happen in 2010--lets not go crazy lets see if we can build a good team with some of the parts we have and or WILL have.

Starting Lineup

C - Hasheem Thabeet - First round pick next season (may have to trade up)
pf - Kevin Love - First round pick this season
sf - Wilson Chandler - Currently on team
sg - J R Smith - Mid-level exception
pg - Augustin or Lawson - Buy late pick and trade to move up a few

I'd just present the elite FA with a mound of coke, some high society models/whores, and a max contract. Apparently, Nike pays more if you play in NY too. I bet 9 out of every 10 elite FAs take it.

Successful Trade Scenario

Sacramento Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: -2.3 ppg, +3.5 rpg, and -1.9 apg.

Incoming Players
Zach Randolph
6-9 PF from Michigan State
17.6 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.0 apg in 32.5 minutes
Jared Jeffries
6-11 SF from Indiana
3.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.9 apg in 18.1 minutes

Outgoing Players
Kenny Thomas
6-7 PF from New Mexico

Ron Artest
6-7 SF from St. John's
20.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.5 apg in 38.1 minutes
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
6-9 PF from California
1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 8.4 minutes
Sacramento's pick at #12

Sac does the deal because the give up Artest for the #6 pick and get Zach for the #12 pick while Jefferies for Rahim & Thomas is a 2 for 1 wash.

Draft Donte Greene at #12, a Mike D kinda player who can play SG & SF at 6'9 and versatile.

C = CURRY
PF = LEE
SF = CHANDLER
SG = ARTEST
PG = CRAWFORD

Bench = Nate / Greene

Thats only 7 players under contract when Wade, LB, D. Howard hit the market !!!

5 Donte Greene
Syracuse
Birthday:2/21/1988
NBA Postion:Small Forward
Class:Freshman
Ht:6-9 Wt:221 Profile
Overall 93
NBA Comparison: Rashard Lewis

Strengths: Greene is an especially long and talented wing who can score in bunches. When he’s on, he hits long three pointers casually and seems to have the confidence of a legend. He has the offensive ability to take over games and calls for the ball on the court when he’s feeling it. He has the ability to handle the ball, and take it to the basket aggressively and with a quick first and second step. He draws fouls well. He can pass and plays tough defense when he wants to. He can defend the power forward position, can block shots and is an excellent rebounder with the ability to dominate the glass. Donte plays very relaxed, and loves to make big loud plays on both offense and defense. He shows an interest in being a vocal leader on the court. Greene was a man among boys at the 2006 Nike Camp where he made everyone else on the court look completely out of place for stretches of certain games.

Weaknesses: He tends to over focus on his offense sometimes, creating situations where his teammates bring the ball up the court and look to him to score instead of playing as a team. In these situations is where he shows his great scoring ability, but he has a tendency to force shots and make poor decisions. He needs to add weight to his frame, as he is pretty skinny. He may be forced to play power forward in college, but even though he has some power forward skills his overall skill set is more suited to the 3, especially on offense.
