Take the best player available at pick 6
Offer David Lee 6 years 48mm if he accepts great if not trade him for a draft pick
Try to look for reasonable deals to move Zach and Curry. If a reasonable deal presents itself then execute it.
I don't want to be in the panic business anymore--the team has panic traded itself into oblivion. If Philly wants Zach then give me a reasonable deal and I will deal with you.

If not let Dantoni do what he is VERY good at and why we are paying him--get the players to bring out the best in themselves--this has a greta way of increasing a players value or we may find the player might just fit the system

When we had cap space in 1994 we had an AWESOME core that FA enhanced. A plan to strip the team to a rebuilding stage just to get to FA is not the brightest.

Best part of the Lee scenario (and I have mentioned this before) is you can frontload that contract for all of you worried about having cap space for Lebron. In six years Lee's salary would go: 13,13,6,6,5,5 which would also make him a value trading chip later in his contract if so needed

What's wrong with it is that you're trapped in mediocrity. You've got decent players but nothing special and mid lottery picks. I know 2010/11 feels a long way away but you've gotta be more patient.

not bad, because you don't make panic moves like offering the #6 pick to dump zach..time to start dealing from a position of sterngth, not one of desperation...

Unless CLE, PHI or whoever blows us away with an expring contract for Zach then I say keep ZBo and deal with it. I think him running up and down the court and shooting within 7 seconds is appealing to a checker like him. Get his trade value up and trade him high at the trading deadline.

I am happy with doing nothing and just doing the following...

Tell Dinglebury to go stay away from the club.

Pick a player to showcase. ZBo or Curry and start them.

Frontline - Zeddy1, DLee, The Mayor
Backcourt - OJ Mayo (if we are lucky) and Crawford or Jamal and Nate

Bench - Balkman, Zeddy2, Pick if not Mayo, JJSkinny

Run, Run, Run

Like I said show me your roster of players youd like to present to any top tier FA after you trade everyone off--if you cant come up with a roster than you have no idea what you were saying in the first place.

i think we should trade David Lee to MEM for the #5 since they were so desperate to trade us their #4 pick last year for him according to you.

You can't do that to a contract..... limits to how much the increases/decreases are year to year.

It's impossible to know who's gonna be here, how we'll be drafting, what FAs with the MLE we'll sign or whether the FA is willing to be part of rebuilding vs. needs a ready made team. If you need a more concrete answer, then I'll say "the best players we can draft plus the best players we can sign with the MLE for deals expiring by 2011"

And that's your answer to my question??? It doesn't follow logically. Were you just randomly quoting my question?

5 Donte Greene
Syracuse
Birthday:2/21/1988
NBA Postion:Small Forward
Class:Freshman
Ht:6-9 Wt:221 Profile

Overall 93
NBA Comparison: Rashard Lewis

Strengths: Greene is an especially long and talented wing who can score in bunches. When he’s on, he hits long three pointers casually and seems to have the confidence of a legend. He has the offensive ability to take over games and calls for the ball on the court when he’s feeling it. He has the ability to handle the ball, and take it to the basket aggressively and with a quick first and second step. He draws fouls well. He can pass and plays tough defense when he wants to. He can defend the power forward position, can block shots and is an excellent rebounder with the ability to dominate the glass. Donte plays very relaxed, and loves to make big loud plays on both offense and defense. He shows an interest in being a vocal leader on the court. Greene was a man among boys at the 2006 Nike Camp where he made everyone else on the court look completely out of place for stretches of certain games.

Weaknesses: He tends to over focus on his offense sometimes, creating situations where his teammates bring the ball up the court and look to him to score instead of playing as a team. In these situations is where he shows his great scoring ability, but he has a tendency to force shots and make poor decisions. He needs to add weight to his frame, as he is pretty skinny. He may be forced to play power forward in college, but even though he has some power forward skills his overall skill set is more suited to the 3, especially on offense.

Trading the 6 pick to shed salary is OBSERD. D'antoni will raise the value of a guy like Randolph enough to get a decent trade for him.

I hope the Knicks don't trade the pick to dump salary. I think if they could get NJ's two picks that it would be worth it but I don't think NJ is looking to add young players. If they do trade the pick to dump cap then I again will be questioning Walsh and his judgement. I don't think that a team that wins 23 games can afford to give up a lottery pick in a good draft.

Camby's contract started at 13mm and ends at 7.6mm

Maybe not as much as I say but you can frontload it quite significantly

Great; now all we have to do is wait for another team to hire Isiah as GM and then we can showcase players to him!
