Obviously this is a long shot and just a long shot-it is also an extension of one of my posts in aanother thread-but is it possible he drop to 6?

If CHI takes Rose, and Miami feels he isn't a good fit and can't trade down and stay above us so they take Mayo. Minny Lopez is definatey a better fit in Minny
and wonLt take away from Jefferson. Seattle has Durant and Green and Wilcox plus they need a point more than anything. Memphis is the perfect place for him but there are those rumours that he said he won't go there. Barring a trade or or Memphis not taking a guy like A.Randolph to build up that young team around I may be able to see Beasley slipping to us because of the attitude problems from the camp. I can really see the first 6 playing out like this-

Chi- Rose
Mia-Mayo
Min-Lopez
Sea-Bayless
Mem-Randolph/Love
NY- Beasley

It would benefit Mia to trade the pick and get what they want with added value.

Seattle would take him. Durant is a guard/SF and so is Green, right? Wilcox would come off bench.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Wilcox sucks. He's lucky he's in the NBA.

Min is rebuilding and has $$ issues as well. I say we buy Sea's late first rounder, then package that with $3mm to move up to 3 and take Rose/Beas/Mayo which gives us a legit chance at a franchise player. Sota would still be able to draft a guy that meets their need. If we need to help them out with more money use Maliks expiring for Troy Hudson to move up. That saves them $6.5mm next year.

Sota can still draft Lopez, Gordon, Bayless, Love, Randolph... a lot of guys that can be good players. They are rebuilding and the money is worth a lot to them right now. KG is gone. Sota fans arent paying to see Al Jefferson and 25 wins. Cash is king.

I hope hope hope DW can pull something like this to move up

I have to totally agree with the principle of moving up.

Rose/Beas/Mayo dont strike me as franchise guys but they do strike me as all star caliber. After that your rolling the dice. Just my opinion

Assuming we stay at 6, four nba gm's have to lose their minds at the same time for Beasely to fall to us. That's not impossible, but it's highly unlikely.

There's no chance he slips past Seattle or Memphis.

I wish Isiah was one of the four GM's. He'd pass on Beasley simply because he didn't have a troubled youth growing up on the South Side of Chicago.

No, he'd pass because it was the safe pick. He'd rather "beat the bushes" and build the team in an unconventional manner by finding "rough diamonds".

No chance- but IMO if he drops to 3, I would do whatever was possible to trade up to get him.

Oh shot! If Beasley is allowed to slip to the Knicks? Conspiracy theories would be talked about for all eternity. 5 franchises would have to explain why they passed on him. The bulls and Miami have a believable excuse cuz its already written that the Bulls covet a point guard and Miami supposedly loves Mayo......Maybe Minnesota too cuz they kinda don't need anything but a center to slide Al over.......Seattle seems to be locked in on Bayless..........Memphis could say they really wanted a true post guy like Love and didn't want to mess up Rudy Gay's development by picking a tweener like Beasley.

Beasley falling to #6? Stranger things have happened.

Talk about a turn around? But where would he play in NY? SF? He was a high rebounding power fwd in college.....but he showed a lot of ball handling flair on the streetball courts in the summer. David and Beasley starting together? With Curry or possibly Jermaine O'neal @ center? Nate and Craw @ the guard slots?

How does the Glenn "big dawg" Robinson comparison sit with you guy? I realize that's worst cased scenario, but in terms of being a 'tweener, and having a lazinessrep (especially on defense)....does the comparison hold any water?

Its legit. Lots of similarities. Glenn may have been better coming in the league even though Beasley has the crazy stats. Stranger things have happened. Guys like Barkley, Bird, MJ, Karl Malone? They all were picked low and after some serious bums. Like I keep saying.....stranger things have happened.

Glenn Robinson averaged over 20 ppg for almost a decade. I think Beasley will be that type of scorer (and most likely more), but you're talking about 2 different players completely from an athleticism standpoint. And Beaslye is the better rebounder by far...this is a guy that was pulling down 12.5 rpg in 31.5 minutes. And I keep harping on his shooting percentages, but we're talking about 53% FG. 38% 3pt, 77% FT. Not only 3rd in the NCAA in scoring, but a 61% TS, no.1 in PER. The best scorer and most efficient offensive player in D1 by a good margin as a FRESHMAN. That kind of advanced offensive ability makes him the best offensive prospect out of NCAA bball in quite some time IMO.

Beasley isn't going past 2. This has been known for more than 6 months.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
