I am not a fan but I think this might be a big year for Marbury. I think he was devastated by the events that transpired last year with Isiah and his father. I don't think you can discount how a man changes after he loses his father. I also think Steph was totally shocked by Isiah's betrayal. I do not condone or think the way Thomas treated Marbury prior to their falling out was right. However, I think Isiah last year was looking for scapegoats to take the blame for his gigantic failure as gm and coach. Marbury was the perfect target because he already was disliked by fans and his teammates. In addition Steph's social emotional development seems to be impaired and he is not capable of matching wits with a sociopath like Isiah. I am hoping that the loss of his father will help Steph mature. I also hope that the new regime brings back class, coaching, direction, and structure to the organization and team.

i agree w/the last part, i hope the new regime restores some sense of class & professionalism to this franchise... anything will be better than the circus that went on under Isiah.

i don't agree w/u on Marbury tho... i don't see him having a revelation under Mike D's system... i think Jamal & Nate will dominate the ballhandling duties & Marbury's going to be phased out... whether he handles that phasing out maturely or not depends on him... history suggests to me he'll continue to be a negative influence on his teammates & a pain in the butt to the coaches, but being it's a contract year for him he may do the unthinkable & embrace his role at some point in the season & act like he's being a mentor to these guys... i'm not holding my breathe on that one tho.

i think that betrayal Isiah committed that you're talking about had a lot to do w/what went on during the Anucha hearings & all the testimony before the season began... if you notice Steph was still very much in Isiah's corner over the offseason when he delivered the now famous "They Scared Now" speech following the Zach trade... they were still buddies even after Isiah started to focus the offense around Curry more last year... they were still clockin' ho's & treating MSG like it was their personal playground... they both deserved each other... that was of course until someone called them out & aired their dirty laundry for everyone to see... that's when all the backstabbing started & they carried their personal agendas to the professional stage & brought everyone else down around them last year just like LB, Marbs & Isiah did 2 years ago... Marbs is a poison & the day he's finally gone from this roster is the day i'll be a much happier Knicks fan.

I hope you're right but I think it's a little late in his career to play the "what if" game. I hate relying on him and I wish they'd buy Marbury out and tank this season.

So in other words there's no hope uh.....I find this difficult to believe seeing this is a contract year. That in it's self is motivation, the events of last year with mrabs is enough to fk anybody up mental wise..I mean with everything snowballing, i mean negative after negetive, no direction no unity and a coach with no sense.

Steph is a good player no matter how you look at him, and he is still one of the better pg's in the league, if you can't do better then why do worse. He has an expiring contract that can be brought out or traded for any time before the TDL. His stay of execution should be a no brainer

he's older & way past his prime dude... ain't no miracles on the horizon for Marbs & that's not even talking about his mental state... sure he can still put up a good game now & again but he's not well suited to run this system at this stage in his career... best we can hope for is that he decides to embrace his role & be a good teammate this year.

GEEEEEE! I really wish you'd have this much enthusiasm for someone worth brining here. Like some superstar or something. This guy sucks! Plain and simple! All things must die, it's time for him to move on. suckbury was one of the most negative forces I ever seen in my 30 years of being a Knick fan!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Isiah and Larry did a great job of screwing this guys game up. I remember the Marbury that was always in attack mode and he use to create off that for other players on the team. Right now I think he is a gone case. To many people trying to change his game. Maybe in the D'Antoni system he can turn back the clock and get back his attack mode. I mean if you watch CP3 he is at his best when he and his team are constantly attacking being aggressive. Unfortunately though Byron Scott didn't think to highly of Marbury and his game. If you guys recall when Marbury first got to the Knicks he had some monster games I mean wasn't there a game where he dropped 46 points and 17 assists. I will be happy with that Marbury if they can get that out of him. But thats not gonna happen.

That's alright. Nate's gonna jump LB in the shower, as soon as he's naked!

I agree. I really feel that this will be the year that Marbury turns the corner. I intuit that the dust is about to settle, and that Marbury is about to right the ship and get back on track.

This is a contract year for Starbury... this player who has never been about the team... he looks after himself...
... and last time I checked, he looked after himself to the tune of a max contract... so expect exceptional numbers from Starbury this year and please everyone don't be suckered into resigning that crazy team cancer.

He will show up in shape and ready to play. Mike will ask him to do certain things. If he is able to do those things AND we win games then he will be happy and have a big year (or good start before his ass gets traded).

If he struggles to do what Mike asks, or he does but we lose games then you will see him revert to the Starbury malcontent we have all grown to love.

He finally has motivation. Contract year and a pending eviction notice from his lifelong dream.

If that does not motivate you then what will?

He has all the money for 10 lifetimes, maybe he should play for pride.

I'd like to see him return to form and get it together.

Then play for the MLE to stay in NY. If he really is sincere about "staying home" then he needs to contribute somthing. He has been a selfish malcontent his whole career and if he wants love here, he has to give back now.

Otherwise let him have a good year and play for more money elsewhere.

Don't expect too much from Marbury. He has a way of disappointing. Have the attitude that you're not expecting anything, so that if he does play well it's an unexpected pleasure, but if he doesn't, you're not too disappointed.

I expect him to come in to camp, embrace the coach system and lead. I expect him to have a comeback year where he is the 20/8 player we originally traded for. I expect him to cry like a bitch on a post game interview when the Knicks clinch a playoff berth weeks before the season ends. I expect him to help lead the Knicks to a 1st round victory in the playoffs. I expect him to make a walk away jumpshot to advance the knicks to an eastern conference finals. I expect Marbs to run into the crowd crying while high fiving and hugging fans. I expect Marbs to walk on the Finals stage and be cold and unflappable. I expect the Knicks with Marbs as the point guard to win a championship.........

That still can happen. Better late than never.
