your a fixture around here for sure and the place wouldnt be the same without you man...

So lets talk about our favorite Brigg's moments :)

For me.. highlights:
All spring long you harped on drafting Amare Stoudemire and giving Michael Redd the MLE. Two moves with great foresight that would have transformed this franchise for sure..

The lowlights:
"We MUST draft Mike Sweetney.. this guy will anchor our frontcourt for the nextd decade"
Marcus Williams

The inspiration:
Now my history could be wrong here... BUT

I remember one summer the player you could not get out of your one track mind was Abdur Rahim. I know this may come as a suprise to some but Briggs posted about twice a week how WE MUST GET RAHIM

And I believe at one point he said "our #1 off season target:" Shareef Rahim! Which of course inspired another "our #1 offseason target:" thread

Cheers to you briggs.. and if not I will drink it for you

Marcus Williams I also have touted Petro[the only euro I ever thought i liked from looking at him and maybe the last:)]

Go back and see who I identified for that draft--go back and look--bigsmooth knows--- it's all there months before the draft--chris bosh dwayne wade and chris kaman[before he was even on a mock second round anywhere] I can only go back to 2002 here but I think that if they had one ear on my jibber we dhave one helluva team

Yes one year I said get Rahim--i mean not horrible???

Bynum Josh Smith[go look it up] if you can find it go see what i said about Joe Alexander on realgm 3 years ago when he was a freshmen and I saw him in warm ups when i went to a uconn game and he wasnt even playing] I was also very hot on Bogut nate robsinon for late rounder

you mentioned Bynum? I hardly remember

Yes.. I remember your man crush on Bogut, who incidentally would look great on this team.

Good call on Nate and Josh Smith.

Not so good on James Lang.

Its all good amigo.. It cracks me up how you bludgeon us with your ideas.. but at least you have some!

Hey, even Red Aurebach passed on Willis Reed. We all get some and we all miss some. All in all, Briggs does pretty well. I don't take his word as divine revelation, but I pay attention to his posts.

Briggs was always big on Bynum. Gotta give the man credit.

When you're right 51% of the time...

What more do you expect?

you forgot about Steve Francis & Darius Miles

but hey, gotta give the man credit, he's brave enough to go out on a limb on some of his projections that sometimes go against the grain of popular opinion.

Briggs was the FIRST to identify that not lottery protecting the picks we gave to Chicago for Curry was a big mistake.

I believe I was the first to say that trading for Curry was a big mistake, though.

If the picks were somewhat protected (top 10?), it would not have been a bad trade.
Possibly top 5? But having given up the #2, (what could have been the #1) was ridiculous hubris on Zeke's part.
And TWO IN A ROW?! I thought the league prevented you from trading picks in consecutive years, anyway?

We didn't trade the second one. We only swapped. And I didn't like going for Curry, for a couple of years before the trade, because I heard nothing but how he was lazy, didn't work hard, didn't play defense and couldn't pass (WHich I observed with my own eyes)and even had a poor attitude at times. I wasn't even too impressed with his scoring, because he even looked lazy there at times. So far, it turns out my concerns were well warranted.

Swapped or not, it was still traded. I don't know how we were allowed to do that. Is that a loophole?

Briggs has a better draft record than most GMs.
