Is there really something about New York that turns good players off? We got that from Marcus Camby and others as well. When he played in NY, he was always injured (at the wrong times - playoffs) and ever since we shipped him off, he's been an absolute rebounding monster! Even to this day.

Now I see a guy who we thought his best days have passed, bad knees and all, and here he is staring for Detroit! Dice man. I don't get it!

I'll never trust this' team again.

He is a great role player, but I dont think he would excel being a teams 1st option. Im glad he can still perform, but hes just a shadow of his former self.

IN hindsight, Camby was a wuss in NY, NENE has not panned out and Dice needed another year to play into this nice role player.

Then we compound his expiring into marbury. Isiah dissed Dice then married to Marbury.

Oh, the real question.

We starphuch these guys so we never let them fulfil thier expectations and never let the rooks mature, so we have a thin bench.

But your right, bring Bamby back and watch his knee blow out.

Player as any assets requires careful maintenance.
They should not be overused and overloaded physically and mentally.
In NY this guys are used and abused and are broken sooner or later and thrown away.
And we fans are a big part of this "process".
We want it all we want in now... Never happens in real live.

It's a dysfunctional system. I think we can agree that it has started with Dolan and permeated the organization. His negative leadership style is the starting point for many of the organization's problems.

There is also the dissonance between what the lifestyle that I think today's NBA player wants and the reality of life in the city. 'who was the last Knick to live in the city? I think it was McDyess. These guys all live in Westchester. They should form a ball club up there, or just move the Knicks to Westchester.

I think today's NBA player aspires to a suburban lifestyle. I'm sure most of these guys would be happier in San Antonio or Phoenix. or even LA.

I don't think it is primarily the fans, or the press, or the pressure of playing in NY. Rather, the alienation that exists between the team and real Knick fans is caused by Dolan's policies, cluelessness, and inability to like or identify with NY basketball fans.

This team needs the right leadership - I hope Walsh can provide it - and the right kind of situation for the right kind of players in order to succeed.

The fish rots from the head down.

It really takes a different breed of player to thrive under the hot lights of NY. NY can also be an intimidating city to live in as well. It doesnt help that NY management has been so subpar this decade

........while pitted against the twin towers with pat ewing on the sidelines calmly making request "get me my ring". the fan appreciation with camby that had me in coffee stains was he needed to bulk-up to prevent missed games due to injuries

I don't know about that. Sweetney is still out of the league and Frank Williams is selling cheese fries at the local car wash. And Postell can't even get run in a pickup game.
