I think everyone is in agreement that he could run a more open system. He's good at getting mixing it up finding open men and cutters. He's a heady, ice water, player with a mean jumpshot.

Question: is he a decent option via trade?

Tj ford has the crazy back injury that the Knicks should avoid unless the Knicks are unloading some bums.

Baron involves trading big expirings that the Knicks could pawn for something else. Not really an issue though.

These college guards coming in aren't real points and rose and bayless are out of reach. Dj augustine is a reach @ #6.

Hinrichs contract is moderate. He can do 15/6 easy. Maybe more with a open system and eventually better players around him hopefully.

That's my summary. What ya'll think of the possibility?

He's got four years left on his contract. The nice thing is, his contract goes down in value. 10 mil now, down to about 8 mil in four years. Why can't we do that?

I just don't see anything to trade him with from our team. And why would the bulls want to get rid of him anyway?

If it where a straight up trade, then I'd think about it. But again, if we are going for cap flex and shooting for someone like LeBron, then it goes against our plans. Any other incentives regarding deals with chicago, forget about it. They'll end up with the upper hand on us. I don't trust them at all. Not since the curry deal.
I'll never trust this' team again.

if the Bulls draft Rose I think they would be open to trading him.

I would rather go after Barbosa and Diaw if we are willing to add money. JR SMith also. Chris Duhon for a budget.

Of course it depends on the cost, but Hinrich is a nice player. He's good on the three, he finds the open man and he plays tough d. Maybe we can have a backcourt of Hinrich and J R Smith and use our pick on a forward or center.

I like Hinrich alot. He has alot of character and plays right. If he is available for a reasonable offer I think the Knicks should consider him. He seems like a guy that would respond to D'Antoni.

I'd consider that, only if we drafted Koufos. But after that, our main and only goal should be to go after someone like Howard in three years, if not LeBron in two. I still think LeBron's coming to NYC, whether it be us or Brooklyn Nets.

Hinrich needs to improve his shot selection/shooting efficiency. He'll take some bad shots for a PG and he's often hovered around the 40% shooting wise.

In a more open system though, I really think he could rack up the assists. Chicago has been playing too slow for the athletes they have. His defense is very good.

I think the Bulls would want an expring and a couple young players- starting with Balkman or Chandler.

My sentiments exactly. Why do we want more players from Chicago? We are not trying to rebuild a squad that already proved it didnt work.

Refuse to be chicago's minor league club! Where they can find talent, options and a dumping ground.

Phoenix should trade Nash + pick 15 for Michael Beasley + Kirk Hinrich

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Or if this is more even, maybe Nash, Barbosa + pick 15 for Beasley, Nocioni and Hinrich

we're not getting Hinrich unless we throw the pick at CHI... D Lee's not gonna get it done.

Another option could be Ty Lawson if the Knicks get a late first round pick or early second round pick.

i don't think there's any way they'd trade us Hinrich & take back Zach.

a deal they may consider IMO w/o having to give up our pick is something like:

Kirk Hinrich
Ty Thomas
Larry Hughes

for

David Lee
Marbury's expiring
Mardy Collins
2nd round pick in '09
