Yo man.....NY1 sports on 1 guy just pointed out that in his first time since he has been covering the Yanks......there was a radio playing in the locker room!!! He's covered the Yanks 15 years and that was seen as the devils work.

Anyway, Johnny Damon needs to go.....Giambi needs to be the every day dh. They need a real 1st baseman aka shelly duncan. Posada is hurt and yes I told you so(who is "you" btw?,lol).......come on now.....its pathetic. The yanks need a retooling like asap.....more like in the off season. All you hear about is pitching like this offense produces runs. They do individually but not together when it counts. There is no chemistry or gang/warrior mentality.

I'm sick of looking at the yanks to tell you the truth. No soul on the field.

I like giradi so far though. He's managing pretty good and his little outburst the other day was cool. He's just a likeable dude.

Anyway, I'm not too fluent in the goings on of mlb....so what can the yanks do to get a better mix of bats?

Uh, you posted this on a day they won 13-2 and their 3rd straight?

BTW, Giambi sucks monkey ass.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

They could have injuries not happen. ARod + Posada out of the lineup at the same time for 2+ isn't going to yield alot of wins, no matter what team you are. ARod is back and things are looking better. Things will be fine.

Quit your whining ladies, they won 3 in a row and are fortunate to have the record they have despite their pitching.

what your seeing is the dying of Torre's team. Yanks are just going to have to wait out some of these deals. Good thing is in 2 years gone will be Damon, Matsui, Abreu, Giambi, Moose, Farnseworth and their lucrative contracts will all be history.

How long was Abreu's extension??

This team always has bursts of offense so there is nothing new. Most of the time this group looks like it couldn't buy a run. Something needs to be fixed. The playoffs the last few years proves that......its a long season and the yanks could get hot and win it all this year......it doesn't excape the fact that the roster needs some change.

You make it sound like Torre signed those guys. In reality, the GM who signed all of them is still here and will be signing our next FAs.

It was just a 1 year team option that the Yankees picked up. He's a free agent after this year, just like Pavano, Giambi and Mussina.

You have to look at this season as a transition year. With all these big contracts coming off the books this winter and even more the following year, drastic change is coming. Give the kid pitchers time to develop for a year or two and retool the offense with free agents like Mark Texeira and minor leaguers like Austin Jackson and this team will be completely different in a very short time.

Just sit back and enjoy some of the young players start to blossom while the vets make an inevitable run for the playoffs. If they make it, great, if not, it's been one hell of a run and changes are coming soon enough to get this team where it belongs.

Which young players are starting to blossom? There are young players who I *hope* will blossom but the only one on the whole roster who you could say is blossoming is Joba.

Dear Bonn.. If you followed the Yankees very closely you would have understood that Torre had a very very major influence in who was brought in here. You would also notice that this offseason the GM and the team clearly showed they were favoring a different approach. Despite resigning two of their own to major money (ARod and Posada) its clear the Yankees are willing to let some of the old players go in favor of building a younger team for next season. Even the owner said we would fix this by next year, NOT we will fix this by summer. However its clear you have a different opinion.

Dear Fish. I do follow closely. I just don't find an excuse for everything. Are you saying Torre had 100% say over who the players were? Are you saying that now that we have Girardi instead of Torre, it's *irrelevant* that the same GM who brought in all those players you listed is the one who will be bringing in new players this off-season? You defy logic and deserve the crappy team we've had over the past 5 years. Unfortunately the rest of us have to suffer.

Giambi is a good enough hitter that I hope he stays next year, even if it's as more of a DH/PH. I don't care about batting average when stats like on-base and slugging percentage are available.

Giambi has been hitting for power this year, i'm not that broken up about him on this team as much as i'm concerned about Jorge coming back & Cano & Abreu who haven't hit for power at all yet... this team will be fine offensively, we need to focus more on the pitching rotation... Joba's not going to just stabilize everything right away when he's converted to a starter, he's going to need his growing period too as his innings get extended... we really shoulda targetted a middle of the rotation guy over the offseason to eat up some innings.

btw, i dunno if i like Girardi that much so far... he promised us a NL style of play & so far all i've seen is the same Joe Torre waiting for the longball style game we've seen for the past several years instead of the '96-'00 style Torre that manufactured runs w/his team that lacked the superstar big bats in the lineup that we currently have now... i dunno why you can't play NL style ball w/big bats in the lineup, we have guys who can get on base, steal a base & move runners over in Damon, Jeter, ARod, Melky, Abreu... even Matsui & Cano can get in on it cuz they can hit in situations if need be.

I'm talking about if he's willing to sign for his market value, no where near what he's being paid now.
