Every summer we hear absurd stories and rumors that get us excited about the next season. This thread is in anticipation of what we will hear this summer. Don't believe the hype until these clowns step onto the court in November and prove it.

Here's some stuff we've heard in previous seasons:

Countless amounts of stars wanting to play for NY

Camby gained weight over the summer and is up to 250 pounds! Only to lose it all in training camp.
Jared Jeffries has been working on his jumper like a madman in preparation for next season.

Jamal Crawford has gained weight.

Eddy Curry has lost weight.

David Lee and Balkman have been working on their jumpshot.

What are some things that you guys think we will hear this summer? I mean we've already heard:

Monta Ellis and Baron Davis are interested in playing for New York.

maybe we could put all the articles that come out about so called player improvement over the summer in this thread.

Nate is really 19 and just had a serious growth spurt and is now 6'4". He has been destroying all comers @ the 63rd st YMCA. He's also the the one responsible for the suprising twist in the movie "the happening".

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

The Knicks as an organization have turned things around tremendously by two men who don't step on the basketball court but wear ties.

According to a close source, Donnie Walsh will step down as President of Basketball Operations for the New York Knicks.

Isiah Thomas is set to retake over his position as reigning President and General Manager.

New York Knicks public spokesman Johnathan Supranowitz announced that a press Conference is set to be scheduled at MSG on Tuesday June 1st at 5pm.

Isiah Thomas was holding back this spectacular core of players and the Knicks will win 45 games next season.

OR

Isiah Thomas was purposely tanking last season to get a high pick. We're really a 45 win team when we're not tanking.

AND

Curry is working out in Chicago with Tim Grover. QRich is on record saying Eddy has lost 40 pounds and looks like a young Shaq.

AND

Crawford has bulked up and has vowed to stop playing like an And-1 trickster and will play more like Baron Davis next season.

AND

David Lee is taking 1,000 jumpers a day and will be automatic from 16 feet next year.

AND

........yeah, you can go on and on and on with the BULLCHIT. Know why? Cause they write it every summer or the players say it every summer...

I think Lee and Balkman did work on their jump shots in the off season last year. It just help when it came to playing the game.

Yeah, but both came into camp way out of shape....injury excuse or not....and neither got it together until later in the season. They also were hardly automatic, a word I recall when reading about Lee working on his jump shot. Balkman will forever be a bricklayer (maybe some day he gets like Bowen at best one favored spot you dont want to leave him open at) and Lee was still a clanker lacking confidence.

Nate also did mature some and did work on his game some. Crawford did bulk up some and, for him at least, had a decent second half to the season.

That's not the point though - the point is about the epic lies and then letdowns they've given us each offseason. Besides, all these guys take baby steps once a year - they'll all be in their 50s before they're acceptable basketball players.

You got everything right except that there will be no press conference, just embedded deep within a press release about the Liberty, and it will be released by MSG on Thursday July 3rd at 5pm.

lol I made an identical thread the beginning of the last offseason. If you pay attention to all the offseason hype you will go crazy. Can't have your life revolve around the Knicks progression/regression. I rather see what the Knicks do new once the season starts.

The Knicks will suck for the next 2 years...in which I will slowly become a Hornets/Knicks fan. I had to be realistic.

The New York Post is reporting that a blockbuster trade is in the works between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. Stephon Marbury, Malik Rose, this year's first round selection and a future first round draft choice will be shipped out in exhange for the Pacer's Jermaine O'neail.

Cap'n Zeke baby!

"This just in", Seeking more lucrative and reasonable contract extensions, Jerome James and Eddy Curry will be working this offseason with former Knickerbocker Kurt Thomas incorporating his famed veggie diet, continuing thier dominance over the league's premier post players.
