the Post reports that NY has talked about a trade of Ward for Al Harrington. If so Layden, what are you waiting for? I would take AL in a heart beat! THe KID is 6'9", and has game. His knee will be a factor but so what, Ward needs to move on. If you have to take on Croshere too for Knight and Anderson. NY could use Croshere as a replacement for Knight as bench decoration. If harrington comes to NY, then trade Spree and Spoon for brandon and Mark jackson! The cap relief of Brandon comes next year and Mark jackson can play C so KT can play PF with Sweetney backing him up. Dice is finished.
Minny then has: Cassell, Spree, Wally, the kID AND Kandi-man!! pRETTY GOOD!
NY has: Eisley/Fwill/Houston/Anderson/Aharrington/Croshere/KT/Sweets/Mark Jackson/Lampe/OHarrington/Vranes.
Their size is much improved!

If they insist on us taking Croshere contract then we would have to send them Knight and Harrington. That's a lot for Al Harrinton. All of our players has either 1 year left on their contract(Ward and Knight) or 2 (Harrington). We lose a lot of trade leverage with one trade. Is Al worth this?
Now if we replace Ward with Eisley then this would work. Indiana would get their backup PG and CAP relief with Knight and Harrington. We get Al and a parting gift(Croshere's contract)

Indiana is definitely one of the teams that would be good trading partners for us since they have an abundance of players(tall SF type) we need and we have players that they need (backup PG). Plus we have a couple of players that are CAP friendly(Ward, Knight, Harrington).
NJ is another team with an abundance in players we need(Center) and they need a backup PG and/or a backup SG (Eisley and Anderson if only we could be so lucky).
Washington, they need a good relibale PF (KT, Harrington, Spoon,) and they have a lot of centers (Kwame Brown, Haywood, Etan Thomas, Jahidi White)
Milwaukee, they have a slew of SFs (Kukoc, Tim Thomas, Desmond Mason) and they need a backup PG. They only have one PG in their roster right now. Well, they also have Erick Strickland. Can you count him as a PG?

I completely agree Martin... If we cannot include Eisley or Anderson somehow this deal is a bust... Ward is about to expire... It's like a lot fo people have been saying all along (to include myself) We need a strategy that puts us under the Cap as soon as possible.. lil trades like these although beneficial in the short term.. really hurt us in the long run... It's not like we're gonna win anything anytime soon... I'd rather buy out Ward or let his contract expire than pick someone up who will be on our books for years to come..

You all make some good points. If they are really interested in getting rid of Croshere with harrington force them to take Eisley and not Ward. That is a great point and will probably kill the deal for them! Eisley would do well with them as a backup PG/SG.
As for Croshere, his contract sucks but the guy was pretty good the first 2 years. He needs some confidence again. With Bird back, maybe it is good for Croshere. He may get that confidence back in Indy. Also NY getting him would soften the blow if you needed to trade KT for a C.
I still do not want Bradley for KT please!!! I'd rather play lampe and Vranes at C all season!!!
AHarrinton and Croshere for Eisley, Knight and OHarrington!
We take their bad contract they take ours. Knight expires and Othella gives them depth in case they lose Miller!
This is such a dream! Donnie Walsh is not that stupid!

I'm surprised Spree has not been mentioned as going to Indiana. The Pacers need a 2 guard. Right now all they have is Reggie who is a FA and Fred Jones. I suppose Mercer and Artest could play there, but they are more SF types than a shooting guard. If Indiana wants to contend this next year they are going to have to fill that position.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Indiana trades for Allan Houston even with his monster contract to replace the outside shooting of Reggie Miller. I can only hope.

Man I like the sound of that! What players do you have in mind that we can get for him??
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year.
GO KNICKS!

Houston and Eisley for Harrington, Croshere and Mercer works. Those are the only players they have that are not base year players that makes enough to get Allan.
The Pacers would actually be pretty good with that lineup assuming they can re-sign Brad Miller.
C-B. Miller PF-Jermaine O'Neal SF-Artest SG-Houston PG-Tinsley
I don't know what it does for the Knicks except correct the dysfunctional moniker.
Yeah, don't give our legit threat to our bitter rival. Houston's staying here...even if it's so that he can be the 'Dell Curry' to our next legit threat...
Try to unload Eisley - good plan...But it'll probably kill the deal, like GoNy said...
If ni deal, then let the cap come off, and prepare for a free-agent signing...(How long is TMac in Orlando?)

He was the best player on a horrible team. That's not saying much. If he was a free agent he might, might, get midlevel exception type money. Please. If his contract wasn't so obese the Knicks would rather trade him and move Spree to the two. Allan is only half a two. He can't play D. Spree is a complete two. The sad fact is Allan's contract makes him untradeable for the next few years, and Spree contract is tradeable (because of the length), so Spree will be the one packing his bags. In a million years when Allan contract expires and the Knicks are finally under the cap they won't even make him an offer. Which I can't wait for! When the Knicks are a winning team I don't want this guy anywhere around. I know what people are going to say. "it's not his fault the Knicks gave a complimentary player franchise money". Well that doesn't mean we shouldn't hate him either. When Pat was here Allan complained about not getting the ball enough. Now he complains about not having a big man to take the pressure off the perimeter. Make up your mind Allan! If we get a serviceable center, we should do the Van Horn for Thomas trade, and BENCH Allan. Start Spree at the two,and Van Horn at 3. Don't give that Van ?Horn is soft bull. He grabs almost as many rebounds per game our our starting center Thomas (7.9 Thomas 7.1 Van Horn). Allan's ego will take a hit but he will actually do a better job coming off the bench. Most NORMAL NBA teams start their complete guard and have the offensive or defensive specialist guard come off the bench. Except of course our retarded Knicks.

I agree knixphan, I don't know if I want to help the Pacers rebuild.
I don't like the Dell Curry comparison though. Allan gives more than what Curry could. Curry was a pure stand still shooter that cannot create his own shot.
