I would love for Q to excel next year with D'Antoni. He is one of the guys on the team with character and leadership potential. I do not know much about the surgery he finally succumb to on his back but he was not the player he was for the Knicks in 06'-07'. Does anyone know if he will improve after a year away from surgery, similar to guys who are able to overcome microfracture surgery? I know he is working out with Tim Grover and Dwayne Wade in Chicago to prepare for next season.

But now, his workouts are going well, he feels strong and can't wait to see what D'Antoni has in store for the Knicks.

"It's pure excitement for me," Richardson said. "I'm healthy, I feel like I'm finally back to 100 percent after my back surgery, I've been working out since April 26 getting myself ready. I'm optimistic. I'm ready to get back to being the best player I can be and help us turn this thing around."

Richardson's workouts under trainer Tim Grover typically last three hours a day, five days a week, and they're brutal. But during a particularly arduous drill during one recent session, Wade began shouting words of encouragement at Richardson, telling him just to think about all the shots he'll get next year in D'Antoni's up-tempo style.

With that, Richardson could manage a grin through his pain.

"Anybody who knows Coach D knows he's impossible not to like," Richardson said. "He's a great guy, so right off the bat we know it's going to be a lot of fun. The best thing myself and the rest of the players can do is do what I'm doing now -- get in the gym and get prepared for whatever Coach D wants us to do."

To me, Q is toast and his back is a big reason for it. I don't think Q is going to have the year that everyone thinks he will this year under D'Antoni, he's just not the same player he was 4 years ago.

It would be nice if he can get in shape, but what is his excuse for shooting so poorly?

Q is down with Marbs, Jared, Jerome, Curry, and whoever else said they would come in ready and haven't......show and prove. At this stage if guys actually prove themselves worthy of carrying around their sacs, it would be terribly annoying.

I guess it really comes down to his back and getting in shape. He knows what to do and is willing to do it. But is he still physically capable?

Q talks the same sh!!t every summer. Last year in Vegas, during the summer league, he was talking about how his back felt fine and he was ready to go. Q is done.

That may be the case. He certainly has a lot to prove (though the same can be said of many others on our roster).

Stiffy Long Stocking Q sucks. He and his bionic back have to go. I would rather see Chandler player. Q has been with this team for years and has done nothing but destroy backboard and hit innocent fans with his airballs.

I just wanna state that he was one of my favorite players when he was a clipper. When Pheonix signed him, I was pissed cuz I wanted the Knicks to get him. That year the Knicks winded up getting Crawford instead.

Q showed us what he could do when he basically carried the Knicks in the first quarter of the season when he dropped 30 something on opening day against Memphis.........will we ever see that through the course of a season?.....not a 30 plus average, but 14-16pts per with his usual 6 boards.

I don't care to tell you the truth. I'm so sick of his act. He has to rebound now from being the absolute worst swingman in the entire league not named Jared Jefferies.

I would not be surprised if Jeffries had a better year than him.

Q was never really a good shooter. He shot .389 from the field with Phoenix. That is just bad. Granted, most of those shots that year were from beyond the 3pt line.

Q does need to shut up. He should be, at best, 8th or 9th man.

nah, no way dude... Jefferies has never had a better season average than 7 & 5, he's 1 of the biggest busts ever seen (picked in the freakin' LOTTERY for God's sakes)... even in Q's worst career year he put up better #'s than that... Q's gonna have a better season next year... maybe not close to what he was as a Clip or Sun but definitely worth a heckuva lot more than fishlips.

Q's a fatboy. He's more bloated than ever. Look at that Doughboy frontline of Q, Randolph and Curry. Man, these Knicks are fat. They'd never survive under the old Riley regime. James, Morris, and Collins are all chubby buddies too.
