Recent articles about Layden's interest in KVH bring cause for concern that the little general is backtracking off his recent success. Any trade of involving KT for KVH would be disaster if Spree remains with Knicks. This means KVH at PF???

I have to belive that the Knicks are looking for someone to play the post, especially with Dice gone for a while. Any trade that involves KVH and KT would also have to include signing a center. T Hill, Theo, someone.

If KVH comes then we must get rid of Spree. Our small team just got smaller.

Keith Van Horn is not an upgradd over KT to me, he's actually not as good as KT. The only advantage he has over KT is that he is taller. But that's really a wash because he doesn't use it as an advantage. He plays absolutely no defense and his offense is often suspect and disappears often. Just look at his track record. The Net's were more than eager to get rid of him and now the Sixers are looking to dumb him. Hello!!! That should tell Laydum something!
I think the Ward for Harrington is a good idea. Although we would miss the defensive tenacitiy of Ward. Size for the Knicks would be good.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

hi guys, first time poster, long time knick fan here...

yeh I definately agree, KVH might be able to spread a defense but giving up our only enforcer is not a wise move, especially since Sweetney is still unproven.

Classic idiot Scott Laydown move...

The Knicks do NOT need Feet Van Corn!!! OMG somebody wake Scott Laydown up from this nightmare. This had better be a damn smokescreen.

Laydown won't be satiffied till the whole friggin team is made up of a bunch of friggin overpaid SOFTEES.

Van Corn was puss when he was on the nets, still PUSS on the sixers, and trading him for KT would PUSSIFY our team.

It's enough of a challenge putting up with Allan Houston. Feet Van Corn would push the softness of the team over the edge.

I pray to God that this rumor is as much of a joke as it sounds.
It ain't a dman bit funny though...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I dont see why we have to continue putting up with KVH rumors. He is a complete scrub. I dont want him on this team, none of you do - and I honestly dont think Layden is THAT dumb. He will do nothing for us at all, and if they get rid of KT for him all it does is tie the Knicks hands for even longer.

Damn skippy. Here's the kicker, tho. I read somewhere (maybe ESPN, don't remember) that since Philly doesn't want Spree, the deal would have to involve KT. That's not the major issue. The article I read indicated that if that were to happen, LayDUMB may push harder for the other big man he's always wanted: Shawn Bradley.

Funny how "NOBODY" I mean NOBODY(foghorn leg horn) wants the knicks so-called best player. ROFL
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

OK... well instead of praying I can swear that I wish Scott LayDown goes the hell BACK to Utah. LayDown wants to assemble a team as soft as he is. NOT IN NYC.

K - I dunno if that was in reply to my post, but if it is all I gotta say that between KT and Shawn Bradley, there really is no choice at all! We GOTTA keep KT

Damn, I just had a vision of a team with Housless, Bradley and KVH as our 'stars'. What was it someone called that possible rotation (in the last forum)? I think it was 'The Sunshine Boys'!

Unless we bench AH. Then wE get bigger and get bench Scoring. This is of course assuming we get someone to replace KT.

Houston (LOL Nercrom... I won't say Housless), Feet Van Corn, and Scrawn Scraggley?? OH, HELL. NO.

With a lineup like that, we'd be the biggest doormat on 33rd Street.

Bench ANOTHER player getting 13.5 Mil? We already got Dyess riding the pine for that kinda money.... Better off just trading that mistake of a contract Scott LayDown made, straight up.

First off, let me say I like Kurt Thomas-- I like what he does for the Knicks, bringing toughness, grit, and defense. I think in a good year, he's good for 15ppg, 9rpg. Overall, though, he's a bit of a limited role player (a la Briant Grant, with whom I've compared Kurt before), best paired with a true low post presence. I'd almost argue Kurt would be better playing alongside Shaq than Malone, who commands a lot of touches.

However, KVH is a more skilled player than KVH and is the type of player that can take over a game from time to time with his finesse. He's the prototypical new-breed big man that's become popular in the league right now, a tall forward with outside skills (and an unwillingness to bang).
Best examples: Garnett, Nowitzki.
Medium examples: Rashard Lewis, SAR, Odom, Horry
Worst examples: Tim Thomas, Skita, Chandler

Where does KVH fit in on that spectrum? Early in his career, he looked like he'd become everything that Nowitzki is today. Injuries took a toll (his shooting thumb is permanently bent as a result of a push from a Knick...) early in his career.

I'd put him on a similar level to Sprewell and Houston. Very good, but not absolutely great on a consistent basis.

The thing about Kurt is that his competitive fire is always there, but... he doesn't always put up numbers either.

I wouldn't mind such a deal, though ideally, I think the styles of Thomas and KVH would mesh well. Salaries don't match at all, though.

line. Feet Van Corn??? Houston and Spree's level?!? Ghawt dayum, u dissed our players, man. Sounds more like the logic Scott LayDown is blamed for using.
