looks like a very nice prospect BRIGGS... but if we draft this kid we would have absolutely no need for a kid like JR Smith... who would u rather have?

Posted by TMS: If I had to guess Jerryd would probably be considered a PG in the terms of a Tony Parker--not a true PG but can play the poistion and be very effective doing so. Jerryd is a safer pick in terms of there is no doubt about it--he can handle the ball he's fast athletic he can shoot he averaged 20 points his freshmen year shooting 46% and still avareged 4 assists. The way that these guys are going to play--the tone in which Walsh sadi we cant get the pick wrong leaves me to believe that we will go safe with a ballhandler who has athletic ability who can play PG who can shoot/drive and pass with good IQ. Like I said there are 5-6 other names you could throw in there but with our new style and the high possibility we pick 5--I think that Jerryd will be the guy. I think thats how the Knicks think right now. RIP Crushalot😞

the best part of the clip was the shotblocking ability... the kid has serious ups, no doubt about it.

Posted by TMS: He's going to be a very good player. He's a safe pick that also plays into our needs. Even though fans have personal choices of other players and who they think may be the best talent etc.. I am one of them--the honesty from the NY Knicks point of view is we need a guard who can play the point---I think they made that clear. I think Jerryd might trump some other really good players especially Westbrook because he is more advanced--he may not end up the better player--he might--but in terms of safety you get with the upside--that is where this kid falls. RIP Crushalot😞

Posted by BRIGGS:Posted by TMS: I thin D'Antoni is smart enough to let the players play to thier stregnths as opposed to trying to make a player into something he isn't ala Thomas and Brown. With Bayless, you get a tremendous athlete at the point, who is a very good shooter, and is a flat out scorer. He's not a traditional pass first pg, but we have seen lead-guards with similar skill-sets have sucess in this league. He reminds of Jay Williams when he was at Duke or a more athletic version of Mike Bibby. Bayless can be very effective with D'Antoni as his coach. [Edited by - uptown on 05-16-2008 8:25 PM] |

Posted by BRIGGS: Are you F!ucking kidding me? I turned that video off after 45 seconds. Why? Because who the hell wants to see a highlight tape of a POINT GUARD dunking the ball over and over and over again?!?!?!?!?!? How is he supposed to make the TEAM better? I want to see a tape of him PASSING the ball!!! Dunking is boring unless you're DWIGHT HOWARD or LEBRON JAMES. You know, FINISHERS!! Players who RECEIVE the ball from their POINT GUARD. This site seriously needs a :banghead: emoticon because Knick fans like Briggs want to make me bash my head through a wall. You are killing me Briggs. Go watch some tapes of Magic Johnson in college and if you don't know who he is, then watch Chris Paul. http://majorleads.blogspot.com

Posted by majorleads:Bayless is a good PG dude ... IMO he's like Chauncey Billups, he can pass the ball but if you want him to score he'll be good at it. he's a good defender as well.Posted by BRIGGS: the best part about him is that he didn't want to return to Arizona because they wanted him to be a SG while he wanted to be a PG ... so it's a positive sign that he wants to be more passive. some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

Suppose I have no clue who Bayless is and never seen him play, how am I to know that Bayless can pass the ball when Briggs is showing me a highlight tape of him dunking the ball over and over and over again. I admit, I'm taking a personal shot AT Briggs, which usually I like to refrain from, but Briggs pushed me over the edge with his "Starbury" mentality. Can we get some videos of Bayless PASSING the ball, PLEASE. http://majorleads.blogspot.com

And another thing, the people who make these mix tapes of players dunking the ball over and again are killing the future of the NBA. Young kids see this crap and think thats how you make it to the NBA. Just dunk the ball, score as many points as possible and look like an ass while doing it. Fundamentals? Nah. Great defensive plays? Nah. Great passing? Nah. And these dunk tapes are sooooo freaking boring. Show me GREAT passing, GREAT defensive plays, and TEAMWORK, you know, like what makes basketball the great sport that it is.
Please God make David Stern force these kids to go to college for at least 3 years so these coaches can teach them FUNDAMENTALS!!! http://majorleads.blogspot.com
