Mayo, Bayless, Gordon, Westbrook. Let's rank 1-4 in following categories:

Size: Mayo, Gordon, Bayless, Westbrook

Athletic ability: Bayless, Westbrook, Mayo, Gordon

BBall IQ: Mayo, Westbrook, Gordon, Bayless

Defense: Westbrrok (by far), Mayo, Bayless, Gordon

Perimeter Shooting: Mayo, Bayless, Gordon, Westbrook

Driving ability: Westbrook, Bayless, Mayo, Gordon

Coach-ability, work ethic: Westbrook, Bayless, Mayo, Gordon

PG potential: I'll leave this open b/c I honestly think all these guys are far more Monte Ellis types (at best) or Randy Foye (at worst) than pure PGs like say Derrick Rose. But I'd like to see what you guys think of their PG potential, especially the mental or unselfish aspect of playing PG.

If ranked 1st (above), you get a score of 1, last = score of 4. Lowest score wins in this ranking system:

Mayo: 14
Westbrook: 15
Bayless: 17
Gordon: 24

If we are sitting at 5, you'd have to think one of these combo guards is a consideration.

I would take Gordon over all those guys, for a combo guard kid can do it all 6.6 reb, 4.9 asst, 17.2ppg 6'4 230lb guard.

Somebody will be happy when they draft him, he would fit in what NY is trying to do with D'antoni.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Ok, I like that kid too. Great game against Memphis in March. But he'll likely be a late 1st or 2nd rounder.

Let's compare these 4.

No he knows who he is talking about. He could be a good late round pick for someone.

Big time character issues for Jamont. Courtney Lee is the guy I want if we get an extra pick

Why Derrick Rose isn't listed is baffling, he is every bit of a combo guard. In no way, shape, or form is Rose a Pure Point Guard.

Lee is a guy I looked forward seeing in the NCAAs, but he looked very average. Actually their PG (I think his name was Braxton) was a far better player.

I didn't list Rose b/c he is the obvious choice at a spot where we will unlikely have a shot to take him. I was focusing on people who could be there at 5.

I would take in this order:

1.Mayo- I think has what it takes to excel here mentally, and can play the run & gun style.

2.Bayless- Fits the run and gun style of play.

3.Gordan- same as above and can shoot.

4.Westbrook- I haven't watch him enough.
In the Knick of time. Knickal for Your thoughts.

I think you're right, but I'd also say that he's a better passer than any of the others - with Bayless second. I think those two can develop into point guards. Mayo is a two - fortunately he's very good defensively.

I agree Mayo is a two guard but he's probably the best passer of all the combo guards Rose a debatable second. People have to understand Rose played on a stacked squad and on any given possession could dish to any given player and more times than not it would produce a score. If you swap Mayo and Rose and put them on each other's team there's no doubt you'd probably see Rose's assist numbers go down while Mayo's goes up and Mayo's scoring dip some while Rose's goes up.

It isn't Rocket Surgery.

I wonder if a lot of basketball watchers have had their mind influenced with distortion because of designated position given these players.
