Posted by McK1: McK, that's a very interesting comparison to make. Actually, I think it's pretty close. I'd say Paul has a better 3 pt shot than Isaiah did. I'd say Isaiah was the better ball handler. I'd hate to have to play defense on either of them. |

Nate Archibald in his prime was the only player to ever lead the league in assists and scoring.
The man was incredible. Playing for the Kansas City/Omaha Kings did not build his popularity as the media outlet was bad, and the NBA in the 70's was not a top poplular sport, but he is the best of the NYC points. Hands down. |

You can make a case for Tiny, but I don't think he was on the same level as Paul and Isaiah. For one thing, he didn't have an outside shot. For another, his assists were mostly dumping the ball off when he got double teamed. I don't think he saw the court and found the open man the way the others did.

Posted by TrueBlue: Why do you make these pronouncements like every month? Seriously you take a player whose having a really great month (CP3 a terrific young player) but then you run to the bank with it. Last year it was Baron Davis (who interestingly enough didn't even make the playoffs this year). By far my favorite is when you said Camby was a possible HOF I almost fell out of my chair. Chris Paul is having one of the best seasons in the NBA right now but has a long ways to go before becoming an all-time elite player of anything slow your roll with these "the greatest ever", "Future HOF" pronoucements. Sorry thats just my rant for the week. [Edited by - bitty41 on 05-16-2008 3:19 PM] |

Hey you guys really think Paul's that much better than Tony Parker? Am I the only one out there who thinks they're fairly close? I for one have no problem mentioning them in the same breath...

Posted by bitty41:Posted by TrueBlue: I called Boom-Dizzle a BEAST and he still is. Don Nelson ran the guy on fumes until his tank rusted and rotted out. Chris Paul is really really really really good. Mark Jackson last night called him the BEST POINT GUARD IN THE GAME HANDS DOWN NOT OPEN FOR DISCUSSION and said if he isn't on the Olympic Team he's boycotting watching altogether. Is there a little shock value in these statements made yeah sure a little. It's better than poppin in and out of threads being tight lipped on saying anything NEGATORIAL towards Zach Randoplh just because one considers him a binky that's for sure. Who's nothing but a loser in every since of the word so please look yourself over in the mirror and put some clothes on. I think it's easily understood a 3rd yr player can't be the greatest ever. Posted by TrueBlue:Posted by Finestrg: Tony Parker is a very good player. But he isn't on the Paul, Williams, Kidd, Nash level when it comes to creating easy shots for his teammates and making everyone around him better. He is built to be a stud playoff player because he can score and take care of the ball. And is *solid* at setting up the offense. But I can't picture Parker *taking over a team as the best player* and bringing them to new heights. He is a top flight sidekick though. Parker benifits greatly because he shares the responsibility of running the offense with Duncan. It would be very interesting how Spurs would be if they replaced Duncan with Amare a guy who doesn't pass much & doesn't set up teammates from the post much. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.

Posted by Finestrg: i had Parker ranked top 5 a couple years ago & people thought i was nuts for ranking Marbury below him... that was before Paul came on the scene obviously... i think Paul is definitely better & in terms of pure PG skills the differences are more stark... Parker's had the luxury of playing alongside Duncan his whole career, & David West while he's very good isn't in Duncan's league if u ask me... i think Paul carries the Hornets while Duncan carries the Spurs... Parker's still 1 of the best PG's in the game but Paul is playing phenomenal ball right now & you gotta put him at the top of the list. After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Posted by TrueBlue:Posted by bitty41:Posted by TrueBlue: See why you gotta take it there the pot shot at Zach was totally uncalled for you know I'm sensitive about my boy lol. Don't hate on my love for the Z-Bo. Bareass dizzle or whatever his name is these days was exposed this season for what he truly is. Last spring he got hot at the right time but he returned to the usual Baron this season as the overpaided, injury-prone, chucker. Chris Paul still has not achieved nearly what Tony Parker has thus far in his career.I still have tons of love for Deron Williams who is not as dynamic nor does he put up the huge numbers but I still love him and would take him my team any day of the week. And most commentators these days make crazy statements about the "flavors of the month" Chris Paul could very easily have a ton injuries next season and all this could be forgotten OR he could come back and be even better. Whose to say but its just that I've seen this many times before with players. They have these incredible playoff runs and are never heard from again or at least sparingly. |

The amazing thing about Paul and leBron for that matter that they carry the whole team...
Take them out and cavs and hornets will never be in play-off not talking about holding the ground against the best of the best. And if leBron was made as a star from let go Paul made himself a star against all odds. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." Hamlet
