With the Sacramento Kings.

Incoming Players
Kenny Thomas
6-7 PF from New Mexico
1.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 12.2 minutes
Ron Artest
6-7 SF from St. John's
20.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.5 apg in 38.1 minutes
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
6-9 PF from California
1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.7 apg in 8.4 minutes

Outgoing Players
Zach Randolph
6-9 PF from Michigan State
17.6 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.0 apg in 32.5 minutes
Malik Rose
6-7 PF from Drexel
3.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.1 minutes

Ron Artest gets his wish to play in NYC. Sacramento dumps two guys who are on the books for two more years and are done. They are not complete losers and could definitly use Zach Randolphs game to compliment Kevin Martin. They may got for it, because they really have nothing to lose.

I could see throwing in Renaldo Balkman too. Maybe get back Shelden Williams? I dont see that happening though. I would kill to have Charles Oakley work with Shelden Williams on the Knicks.

I'm not too sure Walsh would trade for Ron-Ron again.
-- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

I really think we can do something like Zach Randolph for Ben Wallace straight up. I know Big Ben can't play that much anymore, but he can run and probably do ok for 25 mpg blocking shots/rebounding. He runs 1 yr shorter than Zach. Cleveland needs the scoring pretty badly and might be willing to take that extra year- especially if their window with LeBron is short.

You know I didnt even think about that K22. Great point and I would have to say it doesnt happen. Maybe Z Randolph and R Balkman for S Abdur Rahim, Kenny Thomas and Shelden Williams? I would love that as well. None of them got any minutes in the second half last year.

Straight up for Wallace works for me too. Maybe a three way? I dont know if Cleveland can really use a Zach. Maybe. I think Zach and Stephon could have great seasons next to Lebron, but they would have to commit to playing with him and not being ball hogs, and I just dont know if theyd take a chance. I think it would benefit both teams.

CLE got Big Ben cuz they wanted to shore up their frontcourt D... why would they now trade for Zach's contract that runs a year longer & get a guy who plays zero defense? they already have a low post scoring option in Big Z, if they need anything it's a PG who can help take the load off of Lebron's shoulders to create shots for everyone on the team... Delonte West is not a playmaking G in the classic sense & neither are Eric Snow, Damon Jones or Daniel Wilson, 2 of whom are turning free agent after this season... they need to shore up their backcourt, not their frontcourt.

I don't know I still think Zach to Cleveland has a very real possibility. I mean, unless I'm wrong, I think I'm the first person who brought it up here and I still think it's viable. Ben is a non-factor for the Cavs. Big Z does not have half of the post moves that Zach has.

If there is one place where Zach might be a good fit, it's Cleveland. They have the star, in LeBron, to keep Zach in check. They have a need for more scoring. If there's one thing Zach can do it's score. LeBron needs to be relieved of some offensive pressure.

I don't think they need an orchestrator because LeBron could be that orchestrator. Kobe never needed an orchestrating PG (in fact, when he did -- him and GP clashed). Jordan did not need an orchestrator either. When you have a player like LeBron, so talented at seeing the court and moving the ball, the need for a big time PG is lessened.

if u saw how the defenses completely shut down on Lebron & made other guys beat them, u'll see how badly they really do need another playmaker on that team... they have enough muscle up front w/Big Z, Smith, Varejao & Big Ben... they have some shooters on their team as well... what they need is a guy who can bring the ball upcourt, penetrate into the lane & create open scoring opportunities for his teammates other than just Lebron IMO... last year Larry Hughes helped to fill that void for them in some ways because he had the ability to create his own shot on the perimeter & teams had to respect that... i think Lebron's body took too much punishment during this playoff run & it took its toll... IMO Jamal would be a much better choice for them if any trade is to be made than Zach... maybe something could be done there if you wanna replace Jamal w/some defense in our frontcourt, since we're pretty much quaranteed to draft 1 of the top G's in the draft this year... maybe combine Jamal w/Malik's expiring for Big Ben & a future protected pick?
