New York Knicks

Incoming Players
Sergio Rodriguez
Salary: $817,000 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 2.5 REB: 0.8 AST: 1.7 PER: 9.00

Joel Przybilla
Salary: $5,762,575 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 4.8 REB: 8.4 AST: 0.4 PER: 12.33

Plus the Portland 1st round draft pick.

Outgoing Players: Jared Jeffries, David LeePortland Trail Blazers

Incoming Players
Jared Jeffries
Salary: $5,632,200 Years Remaining: 4
PTS: 3.7 REB: 3.3 AST: 0.9 PER: 7.95

David Lee
Salary: $990,600 Years Remaining: 2
PTS: 10.8 REB: 8.9 AST: 1.2 PER: 18.01

Outgoing Players: Sergio Rodriguez, Joel Przybilla, # 1 pick

Why for Knicks?

Pryzbilla = shot blocker (he should be more available with Oden coming back)
Rodriguez = tailor made PG for D'antoni's offense
# 1 pick from Portland could translate to Gallinari if he falls, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Darrell Arthur, Jevale McGee, even DJ Augustin

Let's say its CDR, You'd be looking at:

C: Pryzbilla, Curry
PF: Randolph, Anthony Randolph (w/ the # 5)
SF: Chandler, Balkman
SG: Crawford, Chris Douglas-Roberts (w/ the # 13)
PG: Rodriguez, Nate

Now that's a young exciting squad that d'Antoni can mold. Not saying its a 50 win team or anything close. But its a lot of length, some shot blocking, some lineup flexibility, some hope for a future.

Zach would actually be a good fit on that team with Wallace and Okafur as frontcourt mates

Three trades that make zero sense for either side.

Trade 2 makes a ton of sense for the Knicks, any trade that gets rid of Zach and brings in an outside shooter is exactly what this team needs.

Charlotte was a disaster this season and they have a defensive presence in okafur who doesn't take the ball to the rack and try to score in the post

And McChale hasn't made one good decision since drafting KG and I am sure you could pry someone away that has value, like foye or brewer.

Im not even sure who you got going to where. Jaric is a mediocre player with 3 years left on his contract.

Why would Charlotte give up on Adam Morrison and Jason Richardson already? Why would Minnesota give up on Corey Brewer after one year?

Why would Minnestoa or Charlotte, both losing teams, want ANYTHING to do with a born loser like Zach Randolph. Only a team with great players and a winning program would take a chance on him.

No sense. Przybilla for Jeffries I can see. But I wouldnt trade Lee for anything in that option. We dont need clunky shot blockers if we're going to run.

If Sergio is supposed to be all that then I'd trade Lee. We can't extend him in our cap situation.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

How about the following

Crawford for TJ Ford

Curry and Balkman for Sheldon Williams and Ron Artest

These trades are very doable

Marbury/TJ
Artest/Nate
Chandler/Q
Zach/Jefferies
Lee/Williams

TJ has a good season he becomes very tradable, you can let artest expire if you like and get the uptempo offense

You think Walsh wants any part of Artest?

Purple, excellent call on Sergio Rodriguez. I've been saying the Knicks should orchestrate a trade for Sergio and possibly even Martell Webster for some time now. Two young guys that would be flourish under D'Antoni.
