Why for Knicks? Danny Granger would be Shawn Marion 2.0 for D'antoni. This is really a Granger for Lee deal with some extra parts to make it work. Granger would also give the Knicks a shot blocker. Foster cushions the Lee void a bit & would play plenty of C when Curry disappoints. He's also play the 4. Daniels has been a disappointment in Indy but is a low risk gamble & could thrive again. He needs to find his motor again. Daniels contract ends at the optimal time.

Knicks lineup could be:

Curry/Foster
Randolph/acquire a #2 & get Joey Dorsey
Granger/Chandler
Craw/Daniels
Rose (if the gods shine down upon us, Augustin @ 5 if not)/Nate/tell Marbury to stay home

Why for Pacers? Dunleavy, who came into his own last year, might very well be a better full time 3, than an oversized 2. Trading Granger & getting Lee stabilizes both forward spots for the Pacers. JJ2 (IU alum), Balkman provide defense/versatility Indy needs. Rose offers an expiring contract & veteran resence that this team desperately needs.

O'neal/Harrison
Lee/Murph/Diagu
Dunleavy/Shawn Williams/Balkman
Eric Gordon/Ronald Murray
Tinsley/Diener

foster can opt out this summer.

offer foster a 3 year $30 mil deal in a s&t.

trade marbury + curry + filler for o'neal + foster. (saves indy $20+ mil).

I like that but would love to include the Lee/Granger swap in that deal. I like Lee as much as the next guy, but Granger would be a nice core piece to build on.

At the very least we would have to substitute Chandler for Granger. Chandler has Granger like abilities and for the chance of getting Lee (who is essentially Foster with more polished offensive skills), they might bite. I would do this trade b/c Granger would finally solidify our 3 spot. Not sure, however, if Indy would want to do it.

I like it purple, but I might hold off on adding a SF for a while - keep that spot open for LeBron. I'd continue to add other players other than at SF (continue developing a Wilson Chandler/Balkman combo. at the 3 and if that doesn't work out by 2010 get 'Bron in here) but I do like the trade idea. It's pretty fair value being exchanged. Good call.

Why would Indiana trade with us if Walsh just left them? Didn't him and Bird have beef? I dont see it happening.
