Could it be? Do we keep it separate or do we do another isiah? I'm not sure about this one.

I don't see the point in hiring a seperate GM if we have D'Antoni and Walsh here. We don't need that many cooks in the kitchen.

Uh, why did you phrase a suggestion of a writer into an actual rumor?
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

It's an idea. Not a rumor.

I guess I should have used the word 'idea'. Don't worry, I won't call this one and all the sudden it comes true again.

Correct me if I am wrong, but that was just a hateful piece by Mitch Lawrence.

From what I read, Walsh & D went over each player and the knick's roster and talked about how each might fit, or not. To me, that is the Coach having a lot of inpute.

Wasn't there talk of Mark Jackson being an Assistant GM?

Mitch is on record as not liking the deal. He won't be impartial until Mike proves him wrong.

For Mitch & everyone who is saying that D'Antoni's style won't win - then I counter and offer up that if your style isn't Poppovich & Duncan, Riley and Shaq or LB & Detroit, your not winning.

Since we can't get one of those three, I guess we're left with the next best.

I think Walsh and D'Antoni should be enough to get it done. Maybe he can hire a young GM who can learn behind the scenes and tale over when Walsh is ready to retire.

But I dont like the idea of hiring a GM after he already hired D'Antoni. Similar to Kerr, D'Antoni wont be the GM's hire. The new GM and D'Antoni may butt heads in a year or so and D'Antoni will be back to square one.

D'Antoni is a terrific resource for Walsh. Good talent evaluator and has an eye for talent or can atleast get the best out of role players (House, Jones, Diaw, etc.) Wlah and D'Antoni is enough for now.

This is why this is a wait and see. He parked his car in Steve Nash's house who happened to have one heckuva supporting cast. I'm scared that this guy will try to pluck international players left and right. How about you coach a team built for speed and we'll get you the players.

the worry is not about plucking international players...the worry is that if they don't pick the right players, they might get impatient and start going down the rabbit hole again...

International player are a lot better than the crap the Knicks have now. Just look at some of the players on the team they don't care for the game of basketball. Curry would rather be tumbling somewhere or be at a McDonalds, Jerome James he doesn't care about basketball he would rather be doing nothing or joining Curry at the all you could eat buffet. This is the wrong attitude towards International player that some have on the board. Everyone forgets that the Spurs have International players including Duncan. The Lakers team has a team full of International players I'm gonna include Kobe in that category too He did more time in Italy than the US.

If an International player can ball then you have to consider him, but don't close your door on him.

If there was a no-brainer like Yao Ming or Pau Gasol--OK. Otherwise I think the international value has been via free agency or late first early second round picks. And Kobe Bryant is from Philidelphia Lower Merion High School my man:) If living in a foreign country for a time makes you foreign Too many negatives to consider picking a foreign player this high.

I'm with you though there is no way I pick a foregin player especially where the Knicks are drafting. From 15 below I'll take a chance. As for Kobe he feels more comfortable with the foreign players so they say.

If you read the article, it quietly bashes Walsh/Dolan's hire and D'Antoni throughout. It even points out bad personnel moves that Mike made while with Phoenix. This is in no way an endorsement. In fact I think it ridicules the move of hiring D'Antoni to the point of saying what is the point of hiring a gm or letting Walsh make picks because they might pick in the traditional manner that wins championships and not select guys for the run and shoot method.
