Indeed, far worse in terms of sheer numbers. But not worse in the sense that Myanmar is a smaller, poor country, with an unstable gov't. Not really a surprise that things are going so wrong there. The US is the richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world, they can get anywhere in the world to drop bombs in a matter of minutes; but it took days to get to a place in the continental US.

So that would make us' an unstable gov't also, wouldn't it? Even more so, because of the resources that are abundant here in the ol' U.S.. At least Myanmar has a little bit of an excuse. They don't have a democracy like ours.

I don't want to make Katrina look like peanuts, because that was ****ed up what happened, but it just goes to show you how lucky we still are next to other places in the world. But then again, in parts of asia particularly, because there is such a huge population, it does not surprise me that so many get killed all at once when disaster strikes. How bout Mexico City, when they had that huge earth quake several years ago? Many thousands lost their lives.
